Too fast and too much pedal. Next recording just imitate the tempo, rubato and clarity of the guitar. It might work.

The temp of your playing needs to be more consistent. Don't confuse phrasing (which is quite nice) with poor time. It needs to have a consistent 3/4 meter running through it as this gives it it's beauty. Not bad though. You obviously have sensitivity to the piece which is what matters.

my first thought was..this is kind of fast for cavatina. i checked the comments and iguess a lot of other people agree too. what i really like about cavatina is that it's a slow, beautiful ,kind of dark song..you sped it up a little too much and it's a bit too bright. but it's still alright...

As far as I know, Stanley Myers originally wrote this piece for piano well before "Deer Hunter" and then later rewrote/expanded for guitar.

Admittedly it is definitely a guitar piece but it is unfair to see that as a flaw in your own work. can't compare two completely different mediums. Personally I wouldn't like it if it were any slower, the quick left hand is what gives the piece some contrast to the fairly lethargic melody which is what I like, too slow and the piece just becomes a bunch of scales, but each to his own.

It's a beautiful song :D This music very different from other john williams movies. Deer hunter one of my all time fave movie. De Niro was wonderful. It is a grief movie, but the music was comfortable. I love the paino version :D

very competant performance but I dont really get the idea behind transposing up a semitone to make it sound 'brighter' - why not go up to F sharp or G? Too bright? I dont think you can say one key sounds better than another - just different.

usually, key changes are to accomodate the style of piece. On the guitar the original key works perfectly for the hands, but on the piano the semitone drop allows to the piece to fit well under the fingers.
