наблюдать за медленно помирающими муравьями в замкнутом пространстве без надежды на развитие и рост колонии и тем более на создание новых колоний - это так прекрасно!
this ant farm isnt good for serious ant keeping when u want to have colonies of several thousands of workers with queen...this is just a toy for kids...
@Blaze1951able,no it doesnt u idiot, gel ant farm is better than sand, sand is not made of a water and ants dont eat that, gel is made of a water, ants love those and they eat it,the sand ant farm, its not easy to put the ants in,the holes are smaller and ants might jump out when u tried to put the ants in,gel is better to put the ants in,u can see the ants through the gel,the sand,u cant, dont u know that?
that blue stuff is shit... full of nasty chemicals..... you should of used a natural habitat... like sand loam or soil in a glass tank with some foilage
And the ants are fine. If you're going to put yourself in their shoes then you have to give yourself an ant brain to. See how much you'd give a shit then.
All the experts say it's better to have a natural habitat for ants. Consider this, what will you do when they eat all the food??? After that, they can't dig anymore. A natural habitat is unlimited since the soil is recycled.
You can buy them more food, how it it any different than providing food whenever you need to if you're using soil? Other than they will have to build their tunnel from scratch again, but that isn't an issue, and they won't care. Having a tank with this stuff is little different to ants eating human waste or stored foods, and that's not bad for them. It's annoying to us when they invade our homes and eat our sugar, but no one says it's bad for the ants.
Don't you think they use dangerous chemicals in the gel to preserve it? And what about the artificial dyes in the gel? The ants aren't even digging for the same reason they do in the wild. Normally, ants dig for shelter from the sun and predators but since the gel is clear, they are digging for food which is going against their nature.
A natural habitat it a lot cheaper since you don't have to buy ANOTHER habitat when they've eaten their food.
Wow! They even built a crane!

first ant farms with blue stuff isn't good for keeping ants.
second the ants are too big for this thats why they didnt make tunnels.
third do you have a queen ?
you should use ytong block and a outside space for them with a queen also.

I think the blue jelly is bad for the ants because it's not a natural substance. How would you like to live in your food?
WimboSix 2 years ago
That would be awesome.
And the ants are fine. If you're going to put yourself in their shoes then you have to give yourself an ant brain to. See how much you'd give a shit then.

I don't believe you.
Besides... All I'm saying is that I believe it's BETTER for them to be natural. After all, it's what the EXPERTS say.
P.S. Sorry if I offended you. I really don't know what I said to offend you though...

It's their food. It's "space age material".
flinny4 4 years ago
what happens when they run out? and why didn't they make all those little tunnels instead of a big shaft on the side?
AdviceBoy247 2 years ago 11
@AdviceBoy247 mines done that, but failed. They got quarter of a way and looked like the stayed in there and died o.0
they were not fireants but, i hear they are the best ones.

no its stupid, the blue jelly is not good for the ants, ants need a dark place, if they dont get enough food/space, they die.
