It is edible -.- its just a regular cake covered with a shell of almond, sugar and water paste so it could hold its sturcture and panited with food coloring.

I'll admit that cake with fondt doesn't taste very good

im pretty sure it tastes good its regualar cake ingredients and the icing they use has been around for along time ive made one before or attempted to make one and it tasted like cake nothing on it isnt edible and its completely art everything on it is amazing and how they craft the cake to look like that there is more than one defintion to art maybe you should look that up and quit wasting time with pointless arguements that is a cake it tasted good and its very artistic its not a new thing

Yeah....that and gum paste? I remember going to a bridal show with my wife to check out some cake decorators and they were handing out samples....beautiful show pieces, but terrible taste....We ended up getting a traditional looking cake, BUT it was made out of 3 different types of marbled cheese cake.

its funny how about 90% of all of their cakes arnt edible or they build something extra like a separate mountain (example) just so theres something to eat but there still good i enjoy watching the show also im just adding that...
