  • @mulukkujoonas Christy don't drink no more

  • I just read an editorial that slammed Shane. The writer needs to get pissed on gin, or better yet go off on a bender then try to write anywhere near what this is.

  • i love this song. they sound great together, they should do an album.

  • his laugh is funny sisisisisiss

  • 4 people are distracted by Shane's teeth

  • Great video, love it.

  • 1:30 for music

  • He's talking about Shane as if he's disabled.

  • @sunonthewindow No, he talks about him like another great musician who really likes his colleague and knows that this colleague is a genius but is destroying himself in front of everybody. So on the interview he points out the pleasure of working with this great man, but he also shows awareness of his tragedy. And don´t tell me there is no tragedy.

  • music at its purest

  • wats this from

  • I'm Canadian an i love im as well! Just wish heed come ta western Canada once.

  • effe,pause,hony,werkenbed,doen

  • I'm sorry guys, but is this a documentary or something? If that is, can somebody tell me the name of it? I really would like to watch it properly. And, let's please stop talking about teeth, we're talking about music here.

  • A really outstanding video, thanks for posting. Looking forward to checking out some of your other posts.

    Slainte! 18/4/42 til St pat's!

  • Better off been out of it than in the hell of society..at least he will be remember forever for his contribution to society..better than what most people can say

  • Brilliant!!

  • two icons, one smackin taste

  • "Irish poets, learn your trade, sing whatever is well made, scorn the sort now growing up all out of shape from toe to top." - William Butler Yeats

  • This video was just added to a music playlist at JustPlay.fm

  • Love them both. Seen them both. The humanity shines through. Diffrent styles. Like Gil Scott Heron and Ol' Dirty Bastard. Kind of. fact... rubbish example. Enjoy the music.

  • two genious musical men, brilliant.

he is an an actor, a poet, a feckin genious.

we will sing his songs forever.

  • its really ashame what shane has done to himself both of these men are genius

  • For any Shane McGowan fans interested in some recent work, here he is in a music video singing with the Priests in a brand new rendition of "Little Drummer Boy" out for this Christmas. He is still alive. They start at about 4:45.

    YouTube.com then: /watch?v=JXku5-zeRBc

  • Tom Waits and Shane McGowan... have two men ever growled so beautifully?

  • @edwdixon5 that would be an epic pairing.... although i'd want subtitles

  • This is one of the finest examples of "air badhran" I've ever seen... more power to you Christy.

  • two mad genius musical guys god love them

  • Christy will never be Shane MacGowan,,,, he is and will always be pretentious and not a very nice guy.,.... Shane MacGowan, truthfully is not a nice guy but never pretentious ... no one will ever be Shane... or cover Shane but his dead soul mocking all the pretenters...

  • @nmorrison1966 This is probably the most idiotic post I've ever seen on YouTube. Go back and read your comment, and I'm sure you'll see how fucking stupid you appear.

  • I love the emotion in Christy's face at 2:13. you can totally see the respect and Love that Christy has for Shane! This video is wonderful

  • Class acts

  • 2 of the greatest

  • Shane looks smashed (as always lol ) but ya gotta love the man !

  • Is this from a tv show?

  • It only takes a pinch of Christy and Declan to bring out the magic in Shane MacGowan. Although it kinda looks like Dec has had enough pinches and just wants to get on with it.

  • Magic,beauty & power,humble & simple!

  • god dangit. it pushes tears into me eyes when christy starts singing. what pureness and passion!

  • They should have sung the whole version... Such a pity.. It's delicious.

    Thanks for sharing ! ;)

  • two legends... brilliant

  • i always admired Chiristy moore. The reverence which he pays to the cock McGowan, has deminished him in my eyes. Theres still Luke Kelly though. He'll never have to meet this dick, and embarrase himself.

  • @snuju1 haha fuckhead.. luke has played with shane loads.. you just dont have a clue man

  • @snuju1 you my friend are the cock...

  • @boss82ish Haha, that made me laugh. I saw your comment before the one by snuju... I thought you were saying "you're the cock", like somebody might say "you're the shit"... In a good way, you know? I'm going to start using it that way

  • @snuju1 Maybe it's cos CM knows SM on a more personal level and admires his work as a musician and singer. Considering the Dubliners who worked with LK were more than happy to record a couple of records with MacGowan, there must be something to recommend him.

  • @snuju1 I think you"ve just embarassed ya self ! You sir are the cock !

  • it is brilliant

  • i make fun of shane ... much more then i should, i admit, but, i'm beginning to see why he's famous and loved. these 3 guys in this video are in tune with each other and the song sounds very appealing to me. even though you don't care about your looks, shane .... ya blurt out one heck of a tune .... keep it up, ya over addicted dummy!

  • its brill, its awsome, just 2 of the best so good so good!

  • I really like this - a couple of mates having fun :)

    Ruiseart Alcorn.

  • so different voices, so wonderful united...

  • @tommyanthonymcgee Yo... it was about 10 years ago..buy a dvd called christy moore uncovered, its all on there....enjoy

  • Two of the only men who can hold a candle to the ledgend that was Luke Kelly in my eyes. Shanes voice ain't what it once , but when I saw pogues last year (boogaloo and at xmas) he was in the best voice I'd seen him since I was a kid.

  • Sober, drunk or feck all, Shane is a poet who deserves alot of respect, god bless man you are a legend...!

  • Maybe he wonn´t survive the next ten years, but shane ´s music will never die

  • shane has his problems and he'll be the first to admit that but he has a good heart and people like christy see that

  • he doesnt like dentists

  • He got his teeth done there earlier in the year

  • wonderful

    god bless you both

    to a free ireland

  • Christy you really should have had the Bodhran in your hands, great tune Amazing stuff.

  • 3 Legends As Right !! Awesome !!

  • its macgowan not mcgowan

  • genius

  • do you not understand alcahol addiction. This man is able to still show his genious through a terrible affliction. In the words of another great Irish man Brendan Behan " It takes great stamana to be a drunk". I apoligse for my poor spelling

  • I'd never seen that quotation before. Love it.

  • ... You can't be serious. They're both great. They both sing from the heart.

  • three legends their, declan sinnott is pure class

  • here christy i believe u no my da connie mc? up the moores.......

  • Jesus what a concert if these two got together.Awesome....

  • The obvious affection these two have for each other is lovely to see. Shane's music will be sung forever; but no one will be able to do it like Shane...that gritty, sung from the gut, and felt from the heart delivery is all Shane.

  • Wats de name of de documentary dis was on??

  • Fantastic, what a musical geinius shane is, can you imagine him going on X factor, shit he's got it in buckets

  • can this be bought on dvd

  • yes"Christy Moore Uncovered"

  • Any chance you'd be able to put up Christy singing Sweet Thames Flow Softly with Sinead O' Conner and Ewan McColl's son? I think it's on this dvd as well.

  • Fuckin' brilliant!!

  • I love the grit in Shane's voice near the end around 3:15

  • Die beiden sind sowas von geil !

  • Man, these guys got tons of SOUL

  • Come on D.F.!

  • I burst into laughter when Shane said he's one of those guys that tell you his life story. Two of the all time greats. Hard to distinguish between em, Christy on a technicalities perhaps, Shane on pure spirit.

  • I LOV`EM!

  • And the birds were whistling in the trees as the wind was gently laughing.........the best line ever written..Luv u Shane x

  • Well said.Reminds me of the Yeats poem, "and never was piping so sad and never was piping so gay".
