I really like Hypercam because of the Record Window feature, it adapts perfectly when recording games run through DOSBox ^_^ By the way, would you recommend any particular setting for the XVid encoder in order to record old PC games, like graphic adventures, perhaps Shadow of the Comet, Sierra VGA adventures and such?
Hey, since I see here that you have high knowledge of those recording programs....especially damned Fraps....is there any way with witch I could use Fraps and record vid's but with less lag, if you know what I mean, and those Fraps are taking huge amount of my HDD space....my proper question is...
Is there any posibillity that I have Fraps, so the Fraps vid's takes less space with high quality of the video? I need answers on this question as fast as possible.
I don't have Divx nor Xvid on the list. Also the videos run either too fast or too slow, any way to set the playback speed to be just like the recording?
i tried recording with hypercam altogether about an hour, and the clips i recorded used all of my left over memory on my computer. does changing Video Compressor help that?
you are running a 16 bit go on your desktop right click an empty space them click properties settings and where it says 16bit click the arrow and click 32
Hey OTG, I have the same problem as Skulhead. When i record at 30 fps, the video goes 2 times as fast as the sound, I was doing an IWBTG run... but I had to delete it because the sound was so far behind :(
go to the AVI File Tab thing, and go near to the botom right where it says frame compression quality. 100% should be regular speed if yours goes fast is probaly 150 or 200%
75% also works well, i think even a little better than 100%

yep entirely self taught, s'why there's gaps of knowledge here and there :]
i read your comment before the name of who posted it, and was surprised how someone thought i was self taught.. then i saw it was Jambo and considering you've seen all the early HTSFs (which were entirely trial and error recording wise), then it's no surprise at all :]
there must be hours of HTSF where i've rambled on about codecs/recording programs ;) especially the RE ones.
the fraps one is up, and i'll try get around to snagit and camtasia ones at some point, though i'm not very savvy with snagit (though to be fair, all recording programs hinge around the codec setup except fraps).
sadly when i try and record metal gear solid with 30 fps and 1 full frame ratio the play back shows sync and large scene jumping, so im going to stic kto fraps unless you know how to cure this dude?
the fps and frame ratio won't be the causes of that i think, it'll be entirely down to the codec yer using.. give divx/xvid a whirl, and failing that, try a windows media video codec :]

@anu7ho Not always, it takes me like 10 min for a 4min video, Check your internet speed, or the length of your video.
ProfessorFatMan 1 year ago
@anu7ho i got the answer I just didn't have divx, after that it goes half the time it used to go!

To have the Unconstrained option, you'd need to have DivX Pro.

I have a question, when I take footage, it speeds up when I watch it again. What I mean is that it goes about twice as fast as the normal speed.
Any fixes?

I don't have an unconcentrated option in my DivX 6.8
Is it something that only comes with Pro?
GigaSeifer 2 years ago
nvm, found a keygen & got pro. It is indeed a pro-only option

Thanks OTG, you are really helpful. I have a question
Have you try camstudio, its similar to hypercam but that one is free.
