Flash CS4 3D Rotation Tool Tutorial

I have a question about 3d rotation with nested movieclips. I have a movieclip the has 10 nested ones (all nested 10 are the same movieclip) The nested movieclips are bigger than the parent but I used mask only to show what I need inside each of the nested movieclips. Whenever I try to use rotation on the parent, it gets out of wack... Other movieclips work just fine so long as there is no nested movieclip that is larger than the parent... any ideas on how to fix this?...

Nice but I have a big problem. I can't seem to determin if it turns CW ir CCW, so when I making the wheels on a car turn it goin CW and then suddenly you hit a keyframe and it starts goin CCW!!!! Help!!!

@aemit03 Sadly not, it's the Flash engine that de-renders the image, it's really a fail on Adobe's side..

OK, I urgently need to find out how to convert .swf into a video file suitable for youtube. GUYS HELP!!!! This is so desperate, I've downloaded a pile of converters that don't work, tried various other methods of exporting from flash, OMG nothing works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!!! @KISSAproductions easy here's what you must do

first go to FILE in flash its in the upper left corner choose the 14th option there called EXPORT and then EXPORT MOVIE once u do that it lets u choose a file but in the bottom of that screen there is filename and save as click on save as and choose something like a .avi format

@MCRlKiLLjoY That is the problem - when i export as .avi , it simply doesn't render any typography, it skips the parts where the bone tool is applied to the letters.. i'm afraid there's no simple answer to it. Thanks for your kind help anyway.

Great! But how to setup the timeline to view as rotation as local rotation? This usually works in 3dsmax or maya in such a way that.

For instance, I set up a plane that is tilted top end away from us and bottom end towards. And i want to rotate that plane on local axis spinning slowly. I rotate it fine because the mc is in local rotation but when i animate it it screws up. Any ideaS?

thanks for that. do you know how to COPY a pre existing tween? like, if i want to make a sky full of stars that are twinkling, and already have one star made, how would I copy that animation so that I dont have to keyframe every position for each star?

@schreibmichab I dont know if this will work, but why dont you make a copy of the symbol, make that one a different color, and then layer it against the other side.

like attatch it to the back of the original symbol. you might have to change the horizontal or verticle orientation so it matches up right before you slap it on the back of the original, but maybe that will work?

Hi, can anyone help me with the 3d tool? I`v made an airscrew in 2d, Rotated it around the x axis... Then when i click motion tweens and rotate it for example around 90 degrees ONLY around the z axis... it makes a strange all axis rotation:( I can solve it, the x and y axis works fine... but the z axis i fucked:( PLEASE PLease help :((

Hey, I think this tool is really potentially useful and amazing!

I've noticed that with really complex symbols, though, the whole thing gets blurred when you rotate using the 3D rotation tool. Does anyone know anything about this or if there's a way to fix it?
