  • kh kh kh kh kh kh kh kh kh kh kh kh kh kh kh kh kh <------- basically what Hebrew is

  • Thank you for making this video. Toda Rebah.

  • Shalom, thanks for your video.

  • 5:24

The girl on the right is hot. (Yeah, a bit off-topic)

  • What you say about the essence thing is wrong man!

  • I respect your opinion. You may think and believe what you want.

I am not wrong - but youtube is NOT the place for such a debate.

What I said is based on firm resources - you may believe me or not.

I hope you are humble enough to admit there is a (tiny) possibility you are wrong.

  • @Xevorim No he has it right.

  • ok i understand the idea of root but it goes very far, i mean from friend you get authour and notebook? very imaginative language lol

  • There is no imagination invoved. The root is a way to demonstrate ESSENCE - which is the link between these words. These words share close ESSENCE which is presented by the root. By the way- in linguistics (language science) ROOT is called STEM. STEM cells can be transformed into various types of body tissues - all originated from the same cells! The linguistic STEM is quite similar.

  • @musicofwords yes i see, but from an indo-european point of view, it's a different logic, i'm not (yet) familiar with this way of making words

anyway thank you for this lesson

  • @musicofwords It seems somewhat similar to German, in which you can build new words from existing words, but how you get from the root to the new word isn't always obvious to a student. I'm sure a serious student who immerses himself/herself will develop how to make such derivations without thinking about it.

  • Excellent, my friend. You produced a very tight, focussed video. Great for beginners, and sets up a foundation to expand upon. Success to you.

  • It took me 6 years to learn and speak German fluently, this one will probably take me 15 years tops!! haha.

  • yes...people who've learned Hebrew as a second language say it is quite difficult.

I am trying to simplify things and skip the grammar issues.

You will be surprised (or not) but some of the things i mentioned in this video were new even to Hebrew speakers.

  • @musicofwords Well, you did a great job. I am able to remember everything you taught in your video! I love Hebrew, and the culture that surrounds it. So, thank you for the vid! :)

  • I like your lesson a lot . Thanx

  • יש לך מבטא ישראלי מצחיק נורא חחחחח

  • Kol Ha Kavod!

  • Hey, thanks for creating and sharing this video. This made more sense than most of the introductory online articles on Hebrew and I will share the essence of the above with our Sunday School class first thing. Shalom!

  • that was very enlightening. thanks.

  • Thanks for the vid. I just wanted to say your eyebrows are fucking perfect!

  • האמונה במשיח could you please translate this for me? :) I know what its suppose to mean but i just wanted a second opinion.

  • אני שמח שאני ראיתי את הווידוא שלך.

    זה היה ממש מעניין :D

    I hope I said everything right :)

  • תודה רבה

    (You said it right)

  • @musicofwords Yay! With your help I will be even better.

אני עושה עליה בעשרים אחד ימים!!

    :) :) :)

  • pleeease would u like to translate the words spoken here...youtube.com/watch?v=8na__3z5iYU at 1:30 and how good do you think is her hebrew?

  • The translation is: "Please tell me where is the restaurant"

Her Hebrew is OK even tough she speaks quite mechanically.

  • @musicofwords You´re really great! Thanks & see my blog part 22

  • @wreckage3001 That was quick!

    Thank you!

  • @musicofwords you´re welcome! greetings from גרמניה

  • @wreckage3001 (I hope this auto-translator works...)

  • Excellent explanation of a beautiful language! Shalom!

  • Thanks:) This is so helpful!! It makes it alot easier to learn Hebrew when the person can explain it like you have :) Very good!

  • Shalom and thanks for this! Interesting

  • I love Hebrew, it's a logical language.

I'd love to speak it fluently one day :) Shalom!

  • First - I am no trying to convince you. You may believe what you want.

Second -It seems that YouTube don't allow any links posted on comments.

The sources are ancient Jewish writings that are not available online.

I planned to post two links with reference and writer signature - but can't!

I guess that you will have to take my word for it after all :)

  • I agree, the resemblance is quite amazing.

  • NOTHING is made up!

This info is confirmed and re-confirmed.

You can think whatever you want, though.

  • Very hmmm i cant put it into words.

There was a few things I got lost in.

1st. The "Root" of a the hebrew can it be scattered? I mean as can it be all places of the word. And if it is would people still understand it? This hebrew is very very creative beautifully formed. I think I got the idea but im still kinda lost on how it aqually works.

  • not exactly.

each verb is made out of root and built.

if for example, i want to say "he will talk" then i need to get the built of the verb "to talk" [פיעל] [pi-el]

and then i know that pa'al built, in 3rd person, single, male, future is "יפעל" "yefa-el". then, i look at the root of the verb [ד.ב.ר] [d.b.r] and i replace those letters with the letters פ.ע.ל [p/f.-.l] and then i get the word ידבר - yedaber.

the root always showed in the same order in all of the verb forms.

  • Ill get it eventually thanks on the help though. And the main reason i want to learn hebrew is because i hear and saw in a video that hebrew was a flawless and ideal language. so i would really love to learn and understand the language and see if its truely perfect. I allso saw in that video that even aliens used hebrew or something like that i have problems on hear and transmitting info to my brain (Drug related)

  • well, good luck - hebrew is extremely hard to learn - especially if the only language you speak is english. but yes, hebrew is a beautiful language! filled with metaphors and "hidden" meanings - like you saw here- a word inside another, relation through the root, and much more!

i dont know about aliens, but its the language of the jewish bible, its the language jesus talked, some people even say that its the language of god.

btw you can get into my channel, i just posted a video about hebrew.

  • Yah that the main reason i got lost they are simples one simple can mean one thing remove a dot or something in that simple and it means a differnt thing so its kinda hard to comprehend it since we are more how you say in to words than simples i speak spanish too im a half breed and i want to learn how to speak other things. I perfected my english vocabulary it is nearly 100% if i knew how to spell hahahaha.

I know that. If you want i can send you the video link or response thing.

  • yea, why not. i dont believe in those theories, but at least it will be funny.

the problem with hebrew is that when it comes to verbs - the vocabulary becomes the grammar - because you dont add "i will, or ED at the end of the word" - its about changing the whole verb.

in hebrew there are 4 tenses past, present, future and ordering. once you learn the future you can learn the ordering in 2 minutes. but to learn the other tenses might take you months or years.

    so- good luck!

  • Who knows ima quick learner I just say that video again and completely understood it they ment that its so perfect even aliens could get more or less.

I personally think that English is the best language well i only know 2 compared to spanish english just dominates spanish is shit to english and english doesnt have such a delicate system as hebrew. hebrew is a language that has to have all the symples all in order right? Like perfectly a lined or it wont work?

  • well its depend. who saying this, to who is he/she saying this.

if you say gimme more to a female "תני לי עוד" or "תני לי יותר"

if you say it to male "תן לי עוד" or "תן לי יותר"

    enjoy.

  • there you go : in hebrew "gimmie more" is

    תן לי עוד

  • BTW, you've got a very nice smile :)

  • I'm blushing...

  • Thank you very much for sharing your language and giving me a "taste" of Hebrew. It was very interesting. I love music, therefore I love languages, because they too produce beautiful sounds :)) I know a few common languages and learned modern Greek for 4 years at my university. I'd like to learn Hebrew and Russian now, however, the problem with languages is that you need to practice them to avoid forgetting them, and that isn't always possible...

  • beautiful! will look for the next one

  • Thank you for the info, very interesting!

Other Semitic languages are Amharic - spoken in Ethiopia and Aramaic - Ancient Hebrew that appear mostly in religious Jewish writings.

I think that they are similar in the structure of the language - the use of root as a basic unit.

About the ESSENCE, I am not sure it is common to all semitic languages.

  • thanks for posting, really nice introduction.

  • Thank you for making this! You are very fortunate to speak it and thanks for sharing such an exquisite and ancient language.

  • I love it, when is the next one coming?

  • Thank you! I am working on the next one already.

  • This seems really well put together - thanks. As someone with no knowledge whatsoever of Hebrew, this certainly has made me very curious to learn more about it...

  • Thank you!

I'm glad that you were interested.

  • great video,

    i love you!!
