@DestructoXxShaunxX Plane needs to be controllable enough to even get near the carrier, though. That's the problem with small aircraft like these. And a crash into the water means instant death; we do all our filming over salt water, which hates electronics. Someday, though.

Such small stealth fighter can hardly be detected by radars.

Your plane needs 2 grams of weight at the tip of the nose to correct that CG problem. It's stalling and porpoising something fierce. Do that and reshoot the video for a nice level take off and flight. Get flat stick on wheel weights from a tire shop and cut them with wire cutters.

@notatallheng The Revell Piloto is a $30 R/C airplane. Its controllability is not exactly refined. Being shot from a catapult didn't help matters. :)

As for helicopters - they're fun, but the size we have in our arsenal are very sensitive to wind, or they're IR-controlled, so using them in daylight is impossible.

A magazine - of folded wing planes - would be cool

Or a micro heli squadron - would be easier than planes (already have folded main blades) - just needs a guide track - to allow spin up (i.e. spin out blades without vibrating off the deck)

They have MEMS gyro stabilisation in micro planes / helis now - so a closed loop Autoland system might be the next cheap technology - great for landing on carriers
