It was rumored for a while that she was going to make an appearance, but that's just what it was. She may or may not show up in the 3rd movie (or a subsequent movie if there is one) but I believe Nolan went on the record somewhere stating it was going to be Joker, no Mr. J in this film.

I've been a Joker/Batman fan since I was a small child growing up in the 1960's watching the TV series with Cesar Romero. I loved Jack Nicholson's interpretation as well but I thought his portrayal could have been more insane. Hopefully, with Nolan's guidance, this Joker will be the best of them all. I'm excited already with this teaser. I can't wait till next summer. Long Live the Joker!

After hearing the joker voice and laugh I think he may be right :) , but still I don't think it is (Heath Ledger joker laugh) as good as jack Nicholson joker laugh in batman 1989 movie.

I'm not sure if Gamble really exists in the Batman mythos. He's probably a clever creation by Goyer and the Nolan Brothers. All I know is he's one of the three gang bosses looking to gain power. The other two are Joker and Sal Maroni (well so far that is).
