look, I have little respect for Simmons on many levels. To me (my opinion) he is in many ways the epitome of what is wrong with the U.S. (my country). There is no doubt he's a narcissist. To be fair about Ace though the truth is that Ace has been his own worst enemy time and time again. Same with Peter Criss. I sometimes feel sorry for Ace (truly) but he could still be in Kiss if he had played his cards the right way. In the end he arguably chose not to. It just is what it is.

But, I was referring to a clip I had seen recently here at YouTube in which Paul and/or Gene recounted Frehley's audition and one of them actually mentioned Bob, not Bruce. Bob was apparently either "the other guy" who was auditioning when Ace walked in or he was "the other guy" who they were considering along with Frehley. Would make sense in light of his subbing-in for Frehley on side 4 of Alive II.

Facts are that sadly Peter and Ace both had some emotional issues that started surfacing during the tours. I was backstage enough to see what was going on and honestly, it was very sad because I held them all, especially ACE in such high regard. The booze is what destroyed Ace, not Ace himself. Peter's scene was more personal and should be kept how he wanted it. I will say that from day one from signing with Bill A., that no other band worked so hard.

@ryanwestslapdog They kicked ass in Detroit 2010. I think that people are living in fantasy land if they think all bands stay together and if a member leaves the band should just be over....I say damn that would suck! I like they line up they seem to work well together. And yes I liked Sonic Boom and I can not wait for Monster! However they should have their own make-up and costumes.

Isnt it amazing that ace doesnt have a bad word to say and yet paul and gene are just asshole haters. Ace credits them on anomaly and nothing on sonic boom. Gene and Paul act like children. The kiss sound was ace and they still cant fathom that. Aces solos were magic and tommy just rips off ace all the time

@WINFIELD120 I wouldn't say Tommy's a complete Ace ripoff. He's a talented musician and fits the bill as KISS's lead guitarist well. I do agree with you about Gene and Paul though. As successful as KISS is, G&P need to keep their mouths shut about Ace and Peter. It's unfortunate how the reunion tours fizzled, but Ace and Peter's contributions to KISS are owed in volumes. Without Ace and Peter, Gene and Paul would be stuck in NYC with dead end jobs.

@Astrotrain52 Why would you say Tommy's not a complete ripoff? He looks like him, plays the same guitar as him, uses the exact same playing style as him, even his solos like when he does that Alive solo from She. I've seen tirbute bands that were more original. They did some of their own unique stuff when it came to the solos and added their own twists. No, Tommy Thayer is such an Ace ripoff that many people think he IS Ace. He's as bad a ripoff as you'll ever see.

Ace was used while the others went on to character assasinate the truth and hide behind a flame shield of anti-semitism and drugs while spewing much more dangerous propaganda and having access to any media outlet they want.

Man, Ace is the fuckin Man, The Man from space is without a doubt ACE. he got that name, cuz no matter what he could always hook you up. One of the greatest guitarists of all time, and a hell of a showman. ACE Rocks!
