@missmolly500 sailor moon was the 1st to come up with the idea of magic, but these other shows: mermaid melody, winx club, mew mew, etc. theyre just getting influenced by it. ive watched winx and im a huge fan, and its different than any other magical series. (fyi, im 12) -- the creator of winx, igino straffi, gave credit to sailor moon in the process when he came up with winx

@PearlVoice21 It's about something WAY different than romance.... but whatever. There's romance in it so anyone who likes this would like Shugo Chara. I don't like Mermaid Melody, but Shugo Chara is pretty cool. But for me, Lyrical Nanoha takes the cake! If you like girls with badass weapons/magic and tons of action, THAT is the anime for you! :)

omg I loved nanoha! and that show was REALLY not like most magic girl animes... It had REAL FIGHTS... with REAL MAGES where the skills and decisions made by the opponents determined the outcome of the battles, as opposed to an anime like MM where they play an animation and hope it worked.

@Clearie552 i like pretty cure and nanoha. pretty cure despite having a shojo storyline the fights are totally awesome, even the first season didn't start out that way and nanoha moves faster and the fights are amazing. both of them are great magical girl animes.

Ill kind of agree, Sailor moon is my favorite show, but like, Mermaid Melody would be my other favorite show if Sailor Moon didnt exsist. The first season of Mermaid Melody was awesome, but the second season was kind of boring to me except for the last EP
