I found it! WOW. I started thinking about this tune out of the blue tonight. This was one of those commercials that I actually enjoyed as a kid. There's just something about that tune and imagery that haunts me even today! And boy did I eat their chocolates! Thanks for posting this clip.

It was composed by the music group "Faith No More" and I believe it was only made for the Nestles' commercials. No full-length single of this song exists.

Actually it was NOT conposed by Faith No More, they just did a cover of it at a lot of their live shows back then. NOt sure who actually composed it, but I know it was NOT Faith No More.

Thank you so much. This was my favorite commercial of all time and I wish that song had been made into a single. Coke's "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing" was reworded into an actual 45 single hit...too bad Faith No More didn't do the same for "Sweet Dreams".

Found out the answer to my own question ... the Nestles' Sweet Dreams music was done by a group called Faith No More.

I had been searching for any reference to this commercial for nearly 20 years before finding it on Youtube.

The medlody is incredible, and had stayed with me for all of these years.

By the way, wasn't this song done by a group that became famous in the 1990s?

Weird thing is, I could swear the music from this commercial was an actual song altered for the commercial, and it played on the cartoon Kidd Video. When it played, Kidd cried. I've been trying to find it since. But I still love this commercial.

I remember almost falling out of my chair the first time I saw it, because I had just purchased a Maxfield Parrish calendar the previous year and then some of the images had been captured so perfectly in the commercial. I would usually cry 'ripoff' but said 'awesome' instead

I have always attributed this song for my preference of Post Modern Alternative Music. I think I just associate it with that time in my life, the hair, images, and the candy bar was ok too. Very haunting...

My all-time favorite commercial by far. I was only 2-3 when it came out but it had such a lasting effect on me it was the first thing I thought to look of on YouTube. Funny, when I was a kid I thought the woman on the swing was swinging on a vine a la Tarzan. I was quite a dumb kid.
