@marsgreekgod from the video and the article on siliconera it looks like this game isn't related plotwise considering these invaders are from space. but from my own speculation, there is a possibility of a whole ne Cain and Abel bit, but that's based on the similar appearances of the MC and Yamato(the silver haired male) to the MC from the first Devil Survivor and Naoya.

This trailler gave me a total diferent feeling from the first one. I´m glad for it. I want something diferent but with the same incredibly hard battles.

The party fights with demons and the alien with spikes on it is said to summon demons so yeah. The normal enemies should be demons, bosses should be the aliens.

not really, this series uses the original concept of the word "demon" which comes form the word "Demiurge"

a "Demon" it's just a spirit /which is why every enemy in this game is a demon), it was catholic church that changed the meaning of the word "demon". So if Aliens are in fact real aliens, they can't be demons (I guess, that depends on how well informed are the staff for these games).

it's not that ALLL enemies in the game are gonna be demons, you also fight humans as well.

@crushingon First off, apologies for the sarcasm of my previous comment.

Second, no you couldn't recruit Machine enemies, by fusion or conversation. But recruit-ability is a mediocre metric of demon-hood(?) in the games, because in some games bosses can't be gained, and in some humans can be gained via conversation.

I'm also not sold on your reasoning as to why they use the word "demon." In the Japanese version they use the words "demon" and "devil" interchangeably so much.
