  • hey, do u have a video( or would you please make one) about how to do finger tricks on the 5x5x5 cube?

i have one and i average about 5:30 and i always run into misaligned layers while solving

just wondering if you have special hand positions or do something differently

    thanks

  • nice i got my cube yesterday and i can solve it and i figured it out on my one but i also watched you tut for the parody after my first solve but my white one jams a little and they are not that small and it does not rattle! BUT STILL GREAT VID MAN I SUBBED=D

  • Just clipped under 3:00 minutes GREAT JOB ROB : )

  • nice job

i wrote an algerhythm for my 3x3

i can solve it in 1:28 seconds is my best

  • @xXIfrit776Xx my 3x3 pb is 1:07

  • how do you get faster at the 5x5

  • Dont be stupid. It's a 5x5x5.

  • Isn't it the same thing?

  • technically 5x5 is a square and 5x5x5 is a cube so mickaelkean4 ur wrong...

but in cubing it doesn't really matter.

  • comparison:

    eastsheen vs vcube 5

    answer plz

  • Eastsheen locks up a lot and since their layers are thin, some of the finger tricks won't work.

V-cube 5 is smoother and better for finger tricks, but sometimes if you turn it wrong, the cube totally gets locked up and it is hard to fix that. V-cube 5 has pops too.

  • u shud modify it but niceeeee time!

  • lol dropped it too hardXD

  • dude, ur 3x3 timers are messing with ur 5x5 times, it was like a 35 secs after reduction. i take longer in reduction but im faster because of my 3x3 times

  • congratiulations then!:P but where did you buy a "V-cube" like is 5x5x5?

  • My dad is a retard he toth you cheated

    But I dont

  • practice on your edges more and it will drop your times drastically. like my average is around 2:47 and i got a 2:23.91 today. i just started actually practicing 5x5 like 4 days ago. great solve though.

  • great solve. at the end it sounded like you broke it when you slammed it on the table

  • I ordered one on 2/5/09, and I'm hoping for it to come Sunday or Monday :-)

  • I recently broke 4 minutes on the 5x5. I'm catching up to ya Rob. :-)

  • your cube looks kinda stiff are you sure v-cube 5 is your main speedcube 5x5? if it is,I am going to get one :)

  • i remember watching all your 5by5 solves,

n you just keep getting better and faster!

  • does it pop often? i bought a black one

  • No, very rarely and only because it is forced or cut too much. Other than that, it is extremely smooth, durable, and a great speedcube. I have a review for the V-cube 5, 6, and 7 in my videos. (Two separate videos).

  • wow, fast

  • i love watching ur face when solving its like struggling!

  • Oh wow, nice job!

  • how much do you practice and how often? i'll never be that good!

  • dddaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmnnnnn!!

  • Comment removed

  • Iv seen lots of your vids and you can solve and teach great

  • try modding your v-cube 5?

  • I noticed a jam at 0:52. It seemed to fix itself though.

  • Yeah that was me trying to cut the cube too much. Most of the jams that occur with the V-cube 5 are relatively small like that. Occasionally the cube will get stuck if you cut too hard, but I am not worried at all about the cube breaking. It is extremely durable.

  • Mine should come today. I shouldn't have a problem with cutting since I'm more of a casual solver. I'll slowly improve in speed from just using it. My current lowest with a 3x3x3 is 58 seconds so I'm in no rush.

  • good job

  • ur not only a really good teacher, but also a really really uber fast cubist. whoa~~

  • wow, ur fast.

  • are u human? tats so freaking fast O.O

  • no hes rob

  • man thats amazing! i can do the centers pretty fast but the edges get me, i draw a blank when trying to find the matching edges.

  • hahah your amazing! you got sub 3 with the wrong algorithm hahah nice job

  • I wonder if Every cuber drops their cube at the end of a solve... you did it and others do too, I did upon finishing my 6x6, it WAS solved until it lost 25% of the pieces after impact. lol. Good thing the 5x5 is tough... I've dropped mine down an escalator, in the middle of a crosswalk, and even spilled Vodka on it!

  • Yeah, you really want to hit the timer as fast as possible. So the second I finish the cube, I automatically bring my hands down to the timer. So I let go of the cube (not throw it) and hit the timer. Every second counts :)

  • guys, please reply, my friend thinks that i cheated because i looked up how to solve a rubix cube online and im like...ummm no...so can someone tell me if its cheating or not.....By the way, nice solve!

  • no in no way is that cheating. hah.

most people have to have some reference for help. when i say most i mean almost every freakin person that tried to solve one the first time.

  • thanks! jw...im trying to do the fridrichs method now... im so used to the first, middle, the last layer

its kind of confussing so yea. do u no a good tutorial? just reply back, thanks!!!

  • yeah i do know a pretty good tutorial.

    i used badmephisto and pestvic.

a mixture. :) hope it helps.

  • yea, f2l can be very confusing, but it helps ALOT

i used thrawsts vid and some others

practice was the only way i was able to understand f2l, haha

  • i really don't think its cheating, everyone learns somehow :)

  • what method do you use to solve it as a 3x3

  • get the same color on ea side.

  • Or you can solve 5 sides :D (same thing as solving 6 sides. XD)

  • Or 4 sides, on the 3x3.

  • very impressive rob! and yea you should make a video tutorial on your method for edge paring.

  • he has got one.

  • nice solve rob i could never get a 5x5 under 5m inutes =[

  • AVG edges?

  • nice, i can get 10-12 minutes

    ur a beast

  • how much did your v-cube 5x5x5 cost? including shippin?

  • if you live in america, 35-40$

  • with shipping, mine did come up to about $52.

    and that was last week.

  • $52. last week thats what mine rounded up to. in Missouri.

  • you SLAMMED that cube down =]

  • nice i can only get my 5x5x5 solve down to 6 mins

  • dang that cube is a beast. good job

  • nice job!

  • nice sub 2 solve Rob!

  • I think you mean sub 3 =P

  • woops, yea i mean sub 3

  • great!!!!

    fantastic!!!

    keep on going!!!

and thanks a lot for your tutorials!

  • what does v cube means?

  • make of cube

  • v-cubes is a new(er) brand of cubes that is the best and highest quality

    v-cubes(dot)com

  • wow dude! i luv all ur vids - keep making them!!!! xD best tutorial teacher on utube =p

  • Impressive solve Rob. I'm still trying to make Sub-5, I don't practice much with my 5x5. I think this weekend I will mod mine (Did you mod yours?) I have been using your method of edge pairing and it has brought my time on 7x7 down 1 minute... pretty good... of course I would like to try Frank Morris' method. When you have time.

  • dang, u beat me to sub 2 on the 4x4(which i just got) and sub 3 on the 5x5(which im working on). BUT i just broke 20 secs on the 3x3 =)

  • 5th comment!

  • haha, hees using franks methood, thats not too advanced rob

  • I like Frank's method. He is a great teacher and an awesome cuber. It's definitely a good advanced method and has helped me drop my average by about 30 seconds in only a few days of practice. It's much more efficient than what I was using before.

  • yeah, i keep switching between 2 at a time and franks methood, but i like franks better

  • could you make a tutorial so we could learn how to slice the centres while doing the edge pairing. do you know what i mean

  • so rob, have u responded to my challenge yet man?

  • damn, pro nice

  • Gratz =)
