Good comparison Chris. I have the zi8 for the 'grab the moment' situations and I am totally impressed with it (I don't use 1920 x 1080 true HD - as I have a Panasonic costing 4 times the amount for that job).

I like my Kodak Z18 for outdoors good light shots or music video shots- but the sound is awful!! My Flip has great sound and so does my cheapie DXG HD camera. I have an expensive Cannon that takes stunning footage- but the sound is terrible. The only way to get something wonderful out of it- is to purchase a boot mic for around 400.00 dollars. Which is like, what a couple hundred pounds for you maybe?

i use my stereo mic with the zi8 and it works great. i did think about getting a flip but now i have my TZ6 i dont think i need any thing else
