  • still rocking hard and kicking ass after alll these years. rock on.

  • look at the dancer his feet :)

  • what an adorable face ...ive heard this bad 4 ever love em but todays the first time ive seen steve m face eyes.damn lol

  • Good on SM. He rocks back to 68 and has written some great melodic songs . Personally, I think that Jet Air Liner is one of the best riffs/catchy songs ever. Up there with Pretty Vacant!

  • this is boring, the original had more feeling, ill watch it when im 60 and see if i like it, then think back to when i posted this at the age of 25 and realize how boring my life is at 60, then T-bag my wife and pound a beer!

  • @ladodger85 yeah...you're kinda a dumbass. A misguided troll who knows nutin' about nutin'. You're a joke. Grow up skippy.

  • @bughead3 Just leave that pathetic asshole alone in his own pathetic little world, I for one think steve's a god!

He's a true genuine friend or was (I prefer the present tence) of Les Paul, I feel very sad he died though, got tons of respect for this great man!!

I liked him when I was about 18 but now it's certainly more profound than that, really desperately want to see him live badly!!!

  • @bughead3 he's a joker

  • LOL wtf Cee Lo Green

  • its RED up there dancing ;)

  • I wish I could dance like that

  • great version, love the ending. also, as people keep mentioning it, unless it's a backing track (unlikely) then the guy on the keyboards is playing bass. if you look at the video for abracadabra, also from jools holland, he's playing bass with one hand and a synth part with the other.

  • Wow! Takes me back to intermediate school in New Zealand. :D

  • weres the bass?

  • YAY AMSTERDAM hydes favorite place :J

  • get jon c reily of the stage

  • He doesn't get much older in his looks, does he?

  • Steve Miller kinda looks like Bill Murray... =)))

  • it sounds different but steve miller is the man

  • thumbs up if that 70's show brought you here.

  • Steve miller, you are too cool, bro.

  • bill gates?

  • we just saw them in concert over at PNC Park after the Pirates game on Sept. 24th. A great show and it was free.

  • Why is their base player playing the keyboards instead of the base guitar? Interesting arrangement, it still sounds very good though. One of the best songs of all time from one of the best bands of all time. XD

  • luve dis band <3 4ever

  • You try playing the same tune over and over for many, many years I bet your songs would morph a bit to! To me it sounds more developed and sweeter! Very very tasty! I didn't notice a bass player which could be the reason for a little different arrangement! My point is the artist can't play "the wrong" rhythm cause it his present interpretation of his own song. Unless he just botches it! Which has happened! This is very sweet!

  • @sonofjesseband I think Steve sounds better today than he did back in the 70's. Grew up with bands like this back then. The Joker sure sounds even better today.

  • @sonofjesseband your right, it will morph and change, personally i like his voice better when he was younger BUT hes still kicking ass onstage and can preform live better than most anyone alive.

  • @sonofjesseband I completely agree with you, but just to for the purpose of information: There definatly is a bass player here. Even though i don't see it, I can hear it.

  • @OzzyAwzm The bass is being done by the keyboardist. look carefully. He is playing it on a keyboard.

  • love it :)) <3

  • i'm a picker i'm a lover i'm a sinner i'm a midnight toker :)

  • @gibson000000000000000 who the fuck is cee lo

  • what is Cee Lo doing there?

  • huy el tipo de atrás tenia mera empeliculada...

  • Sounds a bit different from the original - but it is STILL AWESOME!!!!!

  • Time has not done him well

  • @mar00481 I think he sounds even better today. The Joker really sounds great now. You gotta see them in person. These guys rock. You may want to bring alittle something to smoke to.

  • That was cool, Joe.

  • This song is simply amazing!

  • @thunderorgasm agreed but its more of a different style they play now

  • Very good version of Steve Miller's song! Nice show!

  • @OK55OK55OK im pretty ssure that is steve miller

  • @OK55OK55OK

Darn ! ! You're right, that IS Steve Miller ! ! First time I've ever seen him in his older years. And the song was just a little different than the original, I thought it was somebody doing a cover.... Like I said that's a pretty good version....hahahah hard to beat the original artist, he can only match himself huh? He ROCKS ! ! !

  • @OK55OK55OK Steve Miller doing Steve Miller. Great job !!!!!!!

  • I love this song.

  • STEVE MILLER IS TIMELESS AND WE LOVE HIM IN MICHIGAN AT GOOD OLD PINE KNOB. THANKS STEVE!

  • Classy !

  • cee lo green at 1:00

  • He's old nowc:( But he's still good:)

  • am i the only one that thinks this guy sounds like kermit the frog? anyway check out my mashup of this song on my channel :)

  • I'd love to see someone play slide nowadays.

No one seems to play that anymore, great technique, but the legend of slide guitar has to be Chris Rea, but Steve is purely a legend anyways, quite jealous of this man, since he was taught by Les Paul, the concept man behind multi track recording and the solid body electric guitar!

    STEVE IS A GENIUS THOUGH!

  • Comment removed

  • i didn't know cee lo green loke steve miller

  • dancer dude seems to be 'Sonny Charles'

  • The Keyboard player is playing the base with the extra keyboard...

  • What happen to the black guy on the original video who played the bass? He was so awesome, did he died or something else happen to him?

  • @THANATOS112220 2 members of the orginal band has passed away.

  • @TheJer1963 Ah okay, so I guess the black guy who used to be the bass player was one of the 2.

  • @THANATOS112220 Yes. That would be James Cooke.

  • @TheJer1963 Okay, thanks for telling me his name, I was always wondering what his name was.

  • @THANATOS112220 You are very welcome my friend. Glad I could help.

  • Dad, get off the set and stop dancing

  • @LJBanc Ahh he's having a good time lol, good on hi is all I say personally haha!

  • I like his voice better here then the original, although the original was good

  • maybe I could join this band as dancer

  • I met Steve 9 years ago. When I saw him, I was like "Im a joker, Im a smoker, im a midnight toker." and Steve was like "Good man, now let's light this motherfucker up."

Ahhhh, an experience I will never forget.

    Good luck with everything Steve!!

  • They could hire a bass player??

  • @RANDOM28able a bit racist don't you think

  • who the fuck is playing the bass line?

  • You hear the bass, but where's the black dude playing it?

  • @BassSmasher41 I guess his son is playing the keyboards in this video

  • @Dunn5050 Norton Buffalo passed away a year or two ago. He's not in this vid. Him and Steve were like best buddies.

  • is any one else shocked that there still alive? correct me if im wronge, but i think there all still alive

  • @dunn5050 please learn how to spell before trying to be funny, it's painful

  • @CakesnakeFilms how about trying to come up with a good coment of your own instead of copying the other 20 million people who make that comment every day because they cant think of anything better, andif i cared about spelling i would try harder, i honestly dont give a fuck if i spell this stuff right, so go back to your moms basement and wack off, you internet fight starting virgin,

  • @dunn5050 Nope, 2 of the orginal band members has died, one back in May of this year.

  • hahaha DAMN! the dancer on the right dance better than me hahaha BTW Awesome song... xP

  • Very nice song. Just flows very well. Steve miller rocks. Wayne

  • this has a whole different feel to it then the old ones they used to do his voice changed alot

  • he sorta sound country now

i like the orignal version better

no hate i love this song but just not this version.

  • @jovanysosa1 His voice is deeper now. Age does that. Just wait till you get a few more years on you. Those years fly by.

  • Boy, the singer standing to the lead guys left is really groovin!

  • He looks like Russell Crowe, or the other way around...

  • Only Steve Miller to play this song with the wrong rhythm and make it sound awsoome !

  • Kinda cool, but I really miss the bass player.

  • @ashmbennett93 no worries it was actually 73' i think

  • he reminds me of bill murray somewhat...

  • In 70´s sounds special..... now is not the same

  • the keyboard dudes playin bass with his left hand

  • Wow it's great to see Steve Miller is still around! He's been doing it for like 50 years!

  • Who's the awesome dancer on the right? he really topped the performance.

  • @brennig2 Sonny Charles

  • @brennig2

THats the original bass player dunno why hes there if theres no bass

  • @SlickShady333

That ain't no original bass player, dude. Gerald Johnson was the "original" bass player on The Joker. There ain't no Gerald Johnson on that stage. The guy playing the bass lines on keyboards there is Joseph Wooton, brother of Bela Fleck's bass player Victor Wooten. The singer/dancer up there is the brilliant Sonny Charles, formerly lead singer with Checkmates LTD - known famously as The Checkmates. Drummer is Gordy Knudtson, Rhythm guitarist os Kenny Lee Lewis.

  • @mckendrick4046 Yep, Blues guitarist, Jacob Peterson officially joined the band prior to the Spring 2011 tour. Following Petersen joining the band, long time guitarist Kenny Lee Lewis became the band's full-time bassist.
