I saw depeche mode perform Black Celebration tour, 3rd row @ the Maple Leaf Gardens...far from depressing. I believe Martin Gore explained himself to Erica Ehm way back then! Check it out ":,,:"
Yeah! I dont know but Black Celebration is the most dark, depressing, gothic kinda album but i love really love it. The song arrangement are perfect. Side B is even darkier, feels like dancing tango with a dead sexy lady in " dress in black". Even better if u listen to this in a dark room, and decipher what Dave/Martin is singing and a verry high end audio to listen to the synthesizers.
I always wondered why people found Depeche Mode depressing AT ALL? This is not depressing to me at all. To me it's saying to make the most of life and enjoy it while you're here.
one of the sexiest songs ever. And Dave's voice is pure ecstasy.I used to ignore DM in my childhood but when I grew up the sound crept in my ears and I have loved it ever since..thank you for this vid so much!!
@JRRDPR Of course you should ignore most of DM songs when you were a child (except some songs songs such as Just can't get enough, everything counts, dreaming of me...) DM music is something for adults to understand the whole meaning of their lyrics, the same thing happened to me; this sound is complex, you have got to be over 16 at least to enjoy this music,
Hey, Depeche fans -- check out the recent releases from my friends' new Toronto-based electro-noir band, The Futureless, at their channel wearethefutureless ... little different, but similar feel to DM...
I'm obsessed with this song&video. I love the body movements of (I assume) Dave Gahan. So sexy! I'm ashamed I just found out about this song last year because of Miami Vice. DM has an extensive catalog.
Yes!! I admit, I was in college when Depeche Mode, The Cure, The Smiths, etc were on the music front. But how can you not fukkin love this music now, twenty-something years later??!! I love this shite!!!! Who's with me????
@brsmith0898 Heh, I got into the bands you mentioned while I was in college as well...twenty-something years later. ;) I agree, these are amazing bands that are worthy of fans from any generation - current, past, and future.
@CamaroRoyale Where did you go to school? I went to Ohio State, graduated in 1991 (damn I can't believe it's been that long). Anyway, there was a bar called Mean Mr. Mustards, Mustards for short. A dark, cavernous hole in the wall that played all the alternative, progressive music. My girlfriend at the time introduced me to the music, and I instantly fell in love (with the music, not her). Been listening to it ever since, and brings back great memories from over the years.
@brsmith0898 about 2.21 you can hear "ruki prizhmi" in Russian, which means hold your hands to yourself(makes sence in song context) or perhaps better version lingo experts will tell you. To this day I do not understand why Basildonians used in few songs Russki lingo in 1987 music for the masses one of those "military" songs also. Heard anything about that?! I grow up listening DM since 1986 Black Celebration first album. Anyway, Im with you Smithy 100% ^_*
@bluelithualien At 2:21 I have always believed DM sampled "I don't care how you feel!" from another media source (television/wovie). Are you quite certain that "ruki prizhmi" in Russian is what is said? I do agree with Music for the Masses uusing Russian samples. The intro to Black Celebration is Daniel Miller doing a Churchill impression: "A brief period of rejoicing."
@brsmith0898 about 2.21 you can hear "ruki prizhmi" in Russian, which means hold your hands to yourself(makes sence in song context) or perhaps better version lingo experts will tell you. I find it interesting that out of all their songs and albums, this is the one that people seem to like the most, considering it's a very dark with a very menacing sound, talking about death. I need to take some sociology classes or somethin cuz that just really fascinates me; I wanna know what that is. LOL
@tall32guy I was a teenager in the 80s, and DM were god-like for my peers at a suburban southern California high school. 20,000 fans showed up an in-store autograph signing they were doing in . It was basically a riot of people trying to get in, and they had to cancel before they intended to end it. It's interesting, because I think everyone loved that dark menace that runs under their earliest work. It all culminated in the Violator album, and some B side releases. My two cents...
heard this song and question of lust only one time but it became immediately clear of their vast superioritiy over many other forms of music!!!!!!! The 80s when artists began experimenting with technological sounds because of the computer revolution made some of the best tunes ever!!!
DM was the soundtrack of my childhood. And I mean CHILDHOOD. I came out of the womb listening to it, I'm sure. It's my mom's favorite band ever. She was a major 80s goth/industrial.
Одна из самых сильных и романтичных песен, первый раз послушал её когда болел бронхитом с адской температурой, читал Кира Булычёва, помогло и запало в душу.
I never paid attention to this song back in the day. Today I decided to play the Catching up with DM album/cd and this song came on. "Come Here, Kiss Me, Now!" Very catchy hook...So I had to come and see if there was a video and yes there is. This is my favorite, for now, Depeche song. How could I have missed this song then? This is a great song. I guess it's never too late to rediscover a great band from the modern romance days. Thank you Nakian.
Jenny McGregor from Scotland - if you are out there somewhere you should know I will always think of you when I hear this. Our summer at the beach in Florida in 1994 was timeless.
I bought the LP the year it was published. (It actually was my favourite song on it.) Now I don't even have a record player that works. "Death is everywhere..."

I went to both shows in Mexico City the first days of october. Have to say this was one of my favourite songs and believe me it doesn't matter I wasn't born when this came out. Music lacks frontiers, time and space al in one. DM!

This sounds very fresh and current. Depeche Mode was quite groundbreaking in their own right.

I went to both shows in Mexico City the first days of october. Have to say this was one of my favourite songs and believe me it doesn't matter I wasn't born when this came out. Music lacks frontiers, time and space al in one. DM!
