isn't there any function to optimize vector graphic in InkSpace? there was some in Macromedia Flash (can't remember for sure since i didn't use that for a looong time). i think it would save even more time.

This can also be done straight from Gimp, it seems.
Use the selection wand tool to select your logo.
Choose "To Paths" from the "Select" menu.
To export, right-click the path layer in the Paths dialog box, and choose export.
