I spent most of my time at Circus Disco and the Florentine Gardens in Hollywood, Wings in West Covina, Mr. J's in El Monte, Fantasia Downtown, The Red Onion in West Covina, The Quiet Cannon and Baby Doe's in Monterey Park, and a few others that time has made me forget in Glendale and Long Beach. All I know is that this is the best music in world to dance to, thanks for keeping it alive for the next generation to enjoy as well. Long Live the 80's!!

Brings me back to Red Onion in West Covina, Peppers, Quiet Cannon, Baby Dolls, Fantasia Puente Hills, DQ's especially, La Casa, etc............ Yeah!!!!!
The music is great, but the mix is just too busy, don't get me wrong it is great music! but you can't really listen to the song playing because the other song is distracting.
Thank you Brother. This reminds me of the Highland Park Backyard Flyer Partys. Best time of our lives. You need to show Elysian Park Stadium way cruizing...
Here in the Los Angeles country area we had an underground scene Disco/High Energy/ Freestyle/80's-New Wave etc. It started out mostly in House party (Flyer-parties) and Night-Clubs. And actually it started in the late 70's soon after Saturday Night Fever. Here in L.A. Ginos and Circus were the main Hot Spots but later became Florentine Gardens, Marilyns, La Casa, DQ's, The Bonaventure (Phantasia), Pappions, Brandi's etc. In Mexico City they had a similar scene and still do Today.
For the record i never dj their..I have several other mixes that i did but have not posted on youtube yet... so far it looks like caddy's in the city of alhambra is still goin hard. KCET did some research on disco and underground parties in la and came up with some interesting things... basically how djing started in la or to be more specific in east la. they have flyers also..this how i started KCET/backyard house parties. and believe or not this how richard humpty vission started too..
I started djing as the disco was edning. in the mid 80's. i got into what most called freestyle and i call "Funk" and got played and played day after day.. when house music hit la this is what got me goin. i love spining old school techno..and i beleive to be good you have to have your "Set" and have records in order.. and keep the good tracks coming..
I found it at a salvation army thrift shop in LA...you will never know what you will find... however you can download it from rhapsody i think under bobby orlando....
