I hate light clutches, less cntroll i was going to test drive a suzuki alto I sat in it once and didnt even bother i went straight out and got a skoda fabia.

It's a step back from the old model in terms of design. Also it's not very well equipped compared to others or cheaper either.

The Yaris for the US gets a false boot floor so the cargo area is completely flat when you fold down the seats. Maybe it's optional since I see the mounting points for it in the video. Also, the stereo featured in the review is much nicer than the ones we get in the states.

I never got why people always think that hitting the steering wheel will deploy the air bag. The air bag sensors are in the bumpers and through out the front of the car.

These always get slated in reviews but in all honesty atleast this car will be 100% reliable unlike most of it's rivals. Also check out how much used Toyota's are going for they hold their value very well unlike most of it's rivals. Yes it's a boring car but for a commuter it makes a lot of sense. Save the nice car for the weekends tbh.

i have to say that this yaris is a huge improvement from the last one but it has also become less practical in many ways.The only thing that this car will impress you with is the equipment and thats all.

I got the 2007 model, this one has a bigger bum, and more boot space.But it's strange, the rear seats don't recline like the old one, there is less storage dash compartment.I think buyers should go with kia and hyundai.They are hitting the right notes with what buyers want.Except maybe the price tag it's getting up there.

Have to agree, mage, I'd in fact say that the Koreans (ie Kia and Hyundai) are rapidly catching up quality wise.

And that is assuming they haven't caught up completely, which one can make a case of them having done.

Love the video, as always, Matt, but I am not impressed by the new Yaris.

When the first yaris came it was a small revolution in this segment - with its funky looks, instrument panel in the middle of the dash, clever rear seats ant etc., second was a little bit grown up version of the original one. This one seems like smaller auris - very casual and nothing special. Like new nissan micra it is a little dissapointment for me:(

You're so right about interior. It does feel nasty and very cheap, as in every other newer toyota apart from avensis. Honda and Mazda are far ahead in terms of quality in their smallest models, and compared to european cars, it has no chance.
