the conflict is not only explained in terms of political influences, its happening because masses want better life, now days many people have tasted good quality of life and new forms of freedom in many countries around the world. Globalization or the idea of modern democracy is spreading out, but success is not warrantied. Countries with high quality of life are closing their borders and forcefully people are facing and been influenced to make democratic reforms locally..for better or worse.

I think it's ovely-simplistic to view democractic movements as wholly led by American-backed parties, but revolutions necessarily incorporate those in power to sustain themselves, and finally to run the new order, because they are the vested interests and know how to run things. Furthermore, I think the over-emphasis on the "Facebook revolution" tag is more to do with the media's navel-gazing tenedencies than the preponderance of new media in setting them up.

I'd be interested to know if Maidhc thinks that this 'democratic revolution' will be as easily controlled as those in Eastern Europe. After all Eastern Europeans, at least those who supported the liberalisation and democratisation process, were largely positively disposed towards the United States and the neoliberal international order. That positive popular sentiment largely doesn't exist here. It will surely be much harder to control widespread anti-Americanism in the electoral process?

what initially stood out for me is that so many ppl spoke perfect oxford english when they were interviewed protesting. They also stated that its the facebook/utube revolution...i thought ok these ppl are oppressed and want to topple their govts bcoz they are hungary (as stated) HOW can they afford a computer or be on facebook/utube??? I am sure there are MANy genuine ppl being used here to rid one dictator(west set up) for another the west wants now, as they have served their purpose 4 now
