I've heard great things about this dish so I ordered it--and wasn't able to eat it because the smoky taste was very overpowering..it just tasted burnt to me I couldn't even taste any other flavor but burnt. Is it supposed to taste that smoky? I wasn't sure if they made it wrong--or if it is supposed to taste like that.
Swadi Kah. I cook thai food all the time and my husband loves this dish so I have to make it for him a lot. Also pad thai, he really loves that too. I'm from Thailand and I miss it a lot and all the great authentic thai food. So glad to have found your channel!!
Thank you so much for this video. The best, most informational one on how to make this dish! This video is very well made. Pad See Ew is my all-time favorite Thai dish and I always pay around $9-11 for one serving. Now I can make it at home and save money. Thanks again :) Keep up the great work on these videos!
wow!! it was done so perfectly...i love thai food.
i watch alot of lakorn but and i see how beautiful and skinny those n'ek are and its almost unbelievable because thai have such a beautiful and good cousine i'm pretty sure its going to be hard to stay fit and that skinny
Great production. Everything was clear and simple. I just wish I knew which propane wok burner I should buy. I can never get my wok hot enough on my western gas stove.
Thank you so much egeefay! I ordered my 50K BTU burner and will receive it on Monday, that's tomorrow. YAY!!! Now I wanna make all your recipes on my burner. :) I'm salivating now.
As we mentioned in the video it's optional. The bean sauce imparts particular salty flavor so you might just add a touch more fish sauce to make up for it.
I'm glad you guys are back, but I think I liked your old style of videos better. I liked seeing your pretty faces and hearing you talk naturally. This sounds a little scripted and unnatural to me. But It is still a great video.
Thanks! We agree. We had long discussions about how to continue to make these free videos without having to use so many people. The old style video took a long time to make. We had to concentrate on the cookiing AND on the entire set , talent, sound recording, hair and makeup etc. We took many hours and a crew of people to make one video. These simple videos are not as entertaining....but a lot easier to make. And they get the job done.
@egeefay Don't get me wrong, I'll take them anyway I can get them. I would at least like to see you guys at the end or something. Maybe tasting the food at the end?
Another problem is that since we made the first series of videos 5 years ago my daughter has gotten married and has moved away. She does visit on vacation but we can no longer count on her. I could probably appear at the end tasting the food but I would have to have my hair and makeup done.
@egeefay I understand. But I still feel that seeing the face of the chef adds to the video. We would love to see you taste the food at the end, even if you didn't have makeup on. Older just means wiser and we would trust your cooking even more.
Just do a google search for "KK280 Kings Kooker". You'll find many places selling them. Make sure the one you get puts out 50K BTU. They have models that look the same but only put out 30K BTU...not hot enough for Stir Frying.
This recipe looks so yummy!! Thank you so much for sharing! Y'all explained everything so well. I know I can make this, but might be hard to find all ingredients in my area. I've watched many videos on youtube using the dark sweet soy sauce, BUT this is the first time I've been given the details on how to make it myself! Thank you once again! Please continue to share these wonderful videos. God Bless
Wonderful production of the video. Fabulous teachers!!! Thank you for your time and energy. Please continue to make more videos!! Love that you have a burner outside of the house...so smart!!!
Where can I get a burner like that? You recommend high heat and I've noticed and have asked years ago where I could find such a burner. Please inform your viewers specific info.. I've been to Vinh Phat and could not find the burner you use so I hope you can help.
