  • Duncan Hunter and Ron Paul! Now we have Rand and Duncan D.! Keep up the fight!!!

  • This debate is pathetic. Don't these idiots asking the candidates questions understand that they're all liars and nothing they say should be taken seriously? (Aside from Dr. Paul of course)

  • 9/11 was an inside job ... Proof ... youtube.com/watch?v=ssuAMNas1us

  • WOW

  • You tell them Ron Paul.

  • An honest politician will have hair on the palm of his hand. All of them are lying accept Ron Paul :P

  • Is it just me, or did the first 6 go off on what was clearly a pre-arraged call?

Then what does Ron Paul do? He states the facts. Clear and Simple.

  • Could have a national emergency? You would have to raise taxes for that? How about we have a country that spends within it's means like any responsible person would and puts money aside in case of those emergencies!

  • Hunter wants to start a war look what he said.

    Hes Horrible

  • Don't you love it, how they try to top each other time after time, rather than actually and just simply, answer the question???

Seriously, can't any of this guys act mature enough???

  • that's what debates are

  • wheres Allen Keys? in this debate?

  • He didn't meet the requirements to debate. Probably would've wasted time anyways. There's way too many candidates

  • Hunter really knew what he was talking about, taxes are never a good thing to be risen but that isnt to say that our country should be wrecked in a time of need from a promise not to raise them.

  • ron paul had the best awnser

  • Ron's the man!

  • Ron Paul= Our Plan!!!!!!!

  • Thompson had the best answer saying he would not pledge to a political group but to the people...McCain-Me Too? c'mon! The most honest answer goes to Hunter....he knows that any such promise is just talk because you never know what will come up once you are in office.

  • REALLY ???????????

So how do we fix it?

Folks need a couple things... honest jobs and honest bankers. Hmmmm guess we needed the same thing in 1930 eh? YEP government regulations like SEC and Glass Stiegel - but you probably know about all that eh? Does that fit into free market economy or is that too progressive for the RP marketeer?

  • why dont you post a link or tell us about glass stiegel i cant find it on google

  • When you google it, add the word bank. Sorry if I came off a bit edgy. I am impressed with MANY aspects of RP - I just get the feeling that people are listening to what makes sense, and then swallowing the rest without considering where it could lead. It's good that you take the time to research.

  • Know what? It's actually Glass-Steagall, it's spelled a few different ways on blogs and whatnot (where I got that spelling) but I tried a few spellings and found it - It's been years since I looked it up so I had forgotten the spelling - sorry bout that.

  • I dont think theres anything that could stop me from voting for him but i would like to see somewhere that he isnt infallible, just for kicks :)

  • oh yeah fix it by bringing back the gold standard dont bank at banks that practice fractional reserve banking. Now here the free market comes in, some entrepeneur will make a bank that doesnt practice it and will be successfull. If not...do u really need a bank? get a safe. worried about savings? invest yourself. I never told you to vote for ron paul but if you know anything you wont vote for an anti-constitutional candidate like most of them now

  • Raise the taxes now because i do not want to pay triple when i become a tax payer.

  • Fred is the only one, that will tell the,am hate raido heydrichs,to go back in there closets.

  • Read Grand Illusion: The Untold Story of Rudy Giuliani and 9/11

  • "... The amount to be contributed by each citizen will in a degree be at his own option, and can be regulated by an attention to his resources. The rich may be extravagant, the poor can be frugal; and private oppression may always be avoided by a judicious selection of objects proper for such impositions...

  • It is a signal advantage of taxes on articles of consumption, that they contain in their own nature a security against excess. They prescribe their own limit; which cannot be exceeded without defeating the end proposed, that is, an extension of the revenue."

Alexander Hamilton -- Federalist No 21

Time to return to ABSOLUTELY NO TAXES on income and payroll - Google fairtax there is a nice org website about it

    (REPOST)

  • RP's answer was the best... he's not going to raise taxes, he's never voted for a tax increase or an unbalanced budget. But the other part is equally important - to cut SPENDING!!! If the spending is not cut, a democrat will eventually take the white house and raise taxes to pay for the prior administration's overspending.

  • Paul says "I have never voted on a tax increase; never will." I don't understand how that is "not answering the question" or why anyone would be angry about it. rocketflameman is obviously a planted "Ron Paul" supporter, since a true believer in Paul's message would never discourage free speech.

  • macain is so chill

  • kvn8907 you are a fucking idiot and he did answer the question. Now shut the fuck up.

  • Finally. That's all I was trying to say.

  • come on man you shouldn't have let that guy get this far.

  • What are you, dumb? This isn't an argument over what his tax plan is. He didn't say ANYTHING about it in the video!

    I swear, it's like I'm talking to a wall.

  • But THAT WASN'T THE QUESTION! He never said yes or no to the question.

You seem to be missing that.

  • Idiot. Reguardless of what he's said other times, I was just talking about the video. Ron Paul DID NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION. The question was "Will you pledge not to raise taxes?" He responded "We should cut spending". That's no answer to the question, and is a red herring if I ever heard one.

Stop blinding yourself with dilusions that Ron Paul is Jesus. He didn't even answer the question and you're supporting him like a firstborn child.

  • Hey intollerant child, ron paul did answer the question he said he "never will" vote for a tax increase...and on top of that he will cut spending! You have to get out of pop culture politics and vote for what helps your own future.

  • He answered the question you dumbass shit for brains kvn8907. How fucking retarded are you? He answered the question that he has vetod every tax increased and that not only pledging to not to increase taxes you need to also reduce spending. Your a fucking idiot if you think he did not answer the question and you only posted the last of his FULL response.

  • What a bunch of dopes

  • I would assume you are not even American because if you were you would understand that the $ goes before the numbers for example $100... because of this comment I am going to donate $1000 to Ron Paul to Win! Keep up the stupidity it only motivates more people!

  • Ron Paul is amazing!!!

  • finally, the last guy introduces some sanity into the debate!

  • Taxes are not a bad thing if you use it to good things. But it is well known that the tax system in the US is corrupt, much of your money goes to the military, debt, and Israel of course. I live in Sweden and i dont mind paying high taxes beacause i know evryone here has the right to good healthcare and every child goes to a good school.

  • Fucking liar.

  • man, that whole while I was mayor routine is getting really stale

  • Some of these men REALLY knock on wood...

  • The only one you can be sure will never raise taxes is the true man of the people, RON PAUL.

  • Um, no, actually Duncan Hunter was the only honest man on the stage there, when he said that realistically, you cannot promise no new taxes. He's right, there may always (and usually is) a reason for a new tax. Anyone who says different, and promises/swears "No New Taxes" is lying...

  • No Duncan Hunter is lying, Ron Paul is the only one willing to cut the amount of spending hes promising so he wouldnt need to write up any new taxes now if congress makes one and overides rp's veto thats different

  • oops i didnt mean hes lying i meant hes too afraid to let go of a few taxes becuase hes gonna need the revenue for his spending

  • Gooliani.

  • "Out of favor with the Republican base, McCain has slowly tried to reinvent himself as a taxpayer friendly Senator and has scored a 90 percent in the past two years." - ATR

McCain voted no on 6 tax cuts including the two big votes - final passage of the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts.

  • Ron is right here (and I'm no RP fan) - you cam cut all federal taxes - the locals will just make up for it - if they spend, they need revenue. So... Spend only on things that will improve our country, or increase our productivity. Long term gain is the answer. Fix the forclosures - fix the predatory lending - fix the hidden unemployment - fix the lower class home first ... when they have money, they will spend it in our stores and shops!

  • So...who are you a fan of?

  • Whoever tells the truth and decides to take some responsibility for making this a BETTER place for the next generation - and the one after that. Unfortunately I haven't seen that candidate yet, so I will be forced to pick from whatever leftovers the rest of you choose FOR ME in the primaries. Sad.

  • Why dont you stop acting like a victim and do some research. Oh maby you dont like ron paul because he wants to get out of Iraq... You should do some research on how wars lead to inflation, leads to poverty at home and profit for special interests and the military industrial complex. Dont be a victim, vote in the primary. I dont care if you vote for ron paul vote for my future and the hope i wont have to die in a commune

  • A: nothing new here...

    B: I can't vote in a primary - I'm an independent

C: All of the things you say about RP are the positives - I am also looking at the negatives - If these things were the only concerns, he would have my vote. RP supporters are starting to sound like amateur AMWAY salesmen - highlighting a few positive points and ignoring the rest. Nice that you're interested, but open your mind enough to be supportive AND critical.

  • One reason I LIKE RP is because he wants out. I could show you some really cool things about economics that would make you question the "free Market" because it ALWAYS leads to corporate capitalism. Yes - I AM a victim - of uneducated voters and a poor selection of candidates. Good to know your worst fear is dying in a commune!!! You must be missing out on what the rest of us fear.

  • I know it sounds nice to be able to regulate corporations but its not realistic. This could only happen if every elected official was 100% honest. The free market with its few faults is the safest way. Otherwise big governemt just gets bigger. Its just like the arguement for policing the world. It sounds nice if we had honest people to decide where to help but its driven by special interests.

  • btw i didnt mean to sound selfish what i meant was i just turned 18 and you people have had a trend in voting for horrible leaders and its not my fault i will have to work till i die to stay alive

  • Ron Paul neeeeds to be president!

  • JUST FREE THE NESARA-MONEY(trillions and trillions)...every fuckin problem in the world would be solved, but NO!!..they just pretend to change things, cause a few people "earn" their asses off

  • its funny how the american people always bring this question up. How will you cut taxes? America is a country where you don't pay for anything already and you get nothing. The taxes should be raised if anything. there needs to be more public social groups. The number one being public health care.

  • You are not a conservative, dont tell conservatives your liberal agenda. How high is your senator's sallery? how much money are we wasting on lying contractors rebuilding iraq? How much does the government subsidize foreign countries when our own is in ruins? If your choice is Hillary...benoit yorself

  • Fair Tax + Spending cuts = solution

There is a reason income taxes were not allowed in Constitution until the 16th Amendment. Its amazing how we lasted until 1913 with the American people receiving their whole paychecks.

  • how would you pledge to never raise taxes? even if you do cut government spending, you still cant pledge to something like that. there are emergencies congressmen hunter has the best answer

  • they all espouse the same half-truths, like dr. paul said they dont raise taxes but they also do not and will not cut spending. why? because, they are funded by shady entites and dr.paul is funded by the people. and taxes are the peoples money.

  • Giuliani is always a dissappointment...

  • Cut taxes AND cut spending. Only Ron Paul would dare say that. He's the man!

  • More ownage from RP.

That guy NEEDS to win or we're all in trouble.

  • and as far as that question goes...... hunter for the win

  • Ron Paul is the only competent! :D

  • They can all pledge to never raise taxes because they can just increase the national debt and print more money.

Ron Paul wants to do it the responsible way.

  • A good president can never answer this question, you never know what might happen, sometimes you have to raise taxes in order to prevail a country from downfall....

Questions like this are typical for Americans by the way too... it's one big "tell the American public what they want to hear" "debate".... This isn't a debate. In my country debates are about real political aspects and not about giving a show....

  • laf... What a wonderful fairyland you must live in. Americans don't like taxes, we prefer freedom. I know that's hard for socialists to understand.

  • i suddenly have the urge to shank Mccain

  • Most people will vote for Obama anyway becuase he's part black, so the other poeple don't really matter that much.

  • only most of the black population will vote for obama because he is part black....

  • fuck you giuliani

  • If you believe what any of these morons, save Ron Paul of course, is saying you are a brainwashed idiot. Wake up, don't fall for it anymore. Even Alan Greenspan said that Bill Clinton was more fiscally conservative than Bush. HAHAHAHAHA. If you vote for anyone besides Ron Paul, you deserve higher taxes.

  • I agree, If you don't vote for Ron Paul you deserve to have your wealth redistributed to those who did... let us fight fire with fire... May those who do not vote for Dr. Paul be taxed for it (this is sarcasm, I am a staunch Capitalist)

  • the last guy made a good point. I wouldalso oppose most tax increases, but you never know what can happen.

  • You big internet meanie! Ron Paul is above God himself. Ron Paul created God who created the earth.

If you don't support Ron Paul, me and my neo-nazi friends will find and beat your ass!!!!

  • what the fuck

  • Win for Ron Paul

  • I'm 22 years old. Live in Washington State (%8.9 Sale tax). I live with my divorced parents. I've been working in the resturant business since i was 15. I really hope they cut sales tax too...

  • Uh, sales taxes are up to YOUR state. The president or anyone in DC can't do anything about your state's sales tax. Make sure you vote for a real conservative Governor during your state's next election.

  • Fuck off to Mars Giuliani.

  • maybe to you but to the majority of us they were not. Huckabee is just another liberal and if I wanted our country to go this direction I would vote Democrat. Thompson is a great actor but just an average politician with not enough support to get him in the white house. Maybe you should just change parties and vote Hillary and Obama in 08' then you could quite lying to yourself about how you really want in office

  • I want to see them pledge to stop giving large and unnecessary tax breaks to the wealthy and start giving tax breaks to the middle class and those in poverty.

  • What a bunch of suckups. "Oh look at me, I'm so great!"

    Fucking retards.

  • actually, they are great.

  • Hunter was the only one up there who's response was realistic and not politically motivated.

  • I COMPLETELY agree with you. liberal vs conservative views of what to do are just tools to use when in office. I do not support candidates that don't recognize that. The whole world could change in a couple weeks and open up the use of any tool.

  • Thank you. I most wholeheartedly agree.

  • I meant that I agree with Karzyn when she said that Duncan Hunter was the only one to give an honest answer.

  • Thisone is such an easy answer: just Google "taxpayer's best friend"

Oh yes, your Google result 2008 FTW!

  • Hunter had a pretty realistic answer.

  • Ron Paul is the only one that will make this country America again.

  • RP is the only fiscal conservative on that stage.

  • huh?

  • "Read my lips" is now part of American Culture to mean, I'm lying.

  • wow, you probably been hating this man ever since the first question..don't you have anything else to say , other then make "smart marks" ?

people have different opinions and have the right to choose whoever they want. so why don't you JUST SHUT UP, ALREADY! we get it you hate him.

  • what's with the bad language? I knew you would be stupid enough to cuss a girl, especially over the internet! HAHA..you really are the lowest of the low aren't you? and I am not even a supporter of anyone, I was just saying how you need to keep your trap shut since on every video I see your stupid comments, on how Ron Paul is bad and whatnot. If he is so bad and his followers annoy you so much then why don't you get your lazy ass up and do something about it? You sure are pathetic!!!

  • What's pathetic is how all those Ron Paul nutters are going to say and do after he loses...which is going to happen.

I'll clean up my language if you are going to be such a wimp and can't take it. If you can't even handle simple english words, I really don't know how you can really handle anything else.

  • "Fuck you."

uh yeah that's simple English, you are such a child.. even i didn't go that low . Anyway what's your problem? Did Ron Paul rape you or something? Is that why your bitching so much? well wimp! I think you should take your trashy mouth elsewhere , because we do not need idiots like you here.

  • Because he's passionate about freedom, the cause worth fighting for! Ron Paul 2008 FTW!

  • We know Ron Paul will follow though because he will cut spending to make it happen.

  • Ron Paul won on that question.

  • Why the effort to belittle him when they could easily silence him?

  • I don't think they could silence him any more. If they didn't allow him there, he would hold a rally next door and get more people to show up and the media would report that.

  • Of course they could. If the media wouldn't report on him at all only a few people would know about him. The majority of voters get their information from the tv or newspapers. If "the media" wants to silence a candiate they easily could.

  • Remember to donate $100 to Ron Paul's campaign on December 16th! TeaParty07 . com

  • How arrogant does McCain sound.

  • lol, they all sit there stroking themselves... at least some people *couhg*ronpaul*cough* focus a little more on the issue and a little less on their ego.

  • I agree with mexicanalemundo, I'd vote for Ron Paul if I was republican. I'm a liberal but its nice to finally see a republican who isn't afraid to say things need to change. Good for you Mr. Paul!

  • It's ok. You can still vote for the guy.

  • And cut spending! What the Republican party needs. Straight talk. RP08

  • If they elections are scripted: Why is Paul still taking part in the debates? They didn't allow Nader to participate.

  • You can't script the candidates but you can script the questions through selection. Nobody should be allowed to ask a question that first states, you are going to fail unless they ask it of all candidates. You can't say it's freedom of speech because it's not the government limiting the speech, it's CNN.

  • If you are getting all your information of candidates from television then your level of intelligence isn't high enough to be voting effectively.

  • Ron Paul '08!

  • I hope you'll still vote for Ron Paul, my friend.

Let them know we won't go down without a fight.

  • I'll vote for Ron Paul, he's getting more time on this debate than other debates.

  • Im not even remotely a republican, and I would vote for Ron Paul! The guy just has a good head on his shoulders! I DO want a democrat (NOT hillary) as a president, but I sure as hell hope Ron Paul wins if its a republican!

  • Why do want a Democrat to win when you obviously see the integrity of Ron Paul? The Democrat / Republican thing hardly matters anymore. It comes down to this ... WHO DO YOU REALLY TRUST?

Honestly, I don't understand the logic of voting the party line.

  • They Don't call Ron Paul Dr. No for a reason..he's got the best record on opposing unbalanced budget and cutting Taxes who can say otherwise?

  • To bad I don't believe any of them. I saw the whole debate and the answers where horrible. I don't trust the Republicans and Ronald Reagan doesn't really convince me.

  • im convinced by Dr Pauls voting record... its astonishing

  • You need to check out Ron Paul. He is the only one who was honest and realistic.

  • 100% Constitution.

You can't deny the best record on that stage!

    jbs. org/files/fi-110-1.pdf

    Ron Paul 2008

Donate today and end the IRS with a real plan and an honorable word of 30 years that actually means something.

  • All 8 of those candidates just bragged about their "records" along with agreeing to the question. Ron Paul stands out because his records are more substantial than the other candidates & he was the only one who actually the intelligence to, like the doctor he is, target the problem & prescribe a remedy.

  • No new taxes????? I love how people hold republicans responsible when they raise a tax or two. Then you have democrats who raise every tax and fee there is and no one says a damn thing? WOW!

  • That's because democrats are supposed to raise taxes. They run on it "repeal the Bush tax cuts" How many dems said that? The republican voters vote for lower taxes. The democrat voters will accept higher taxes as long as the rich get it worse and they get to collect on the new revenue somehow.

  • "I'm the best" "No, I'm the best" "nuh-uh I'm the best" What is this? Kindergarten? Someone call their mommies.

  • yeah, "I have the best record" Only Ron Paul told what the real problem is. It doesn't matter what the tax rate is, if you spend out of control, the money has to come from somewhere.

  • Ron Paul is the only one who would stop the inflation "tax". With any other candidate, it will just be tax and spend all over again.

  • I don't want to resort to ad-hominem, but Huckabee is just as sleazy as Clinton. He can't talk straight, b/c most of his views are too moderate or liberal. He's certainly appealing to less fervent, less principled members of conservative wing with his suave mannerism. In a nutshell, he's political/economical views are more compatible to Hilary or Giuliani's.

  • Anyone wonder what Hunter means by a "national emergency"? I wonder if war with Iran would be considered a national emergency? ;-)

  • good point

  • Ron Paul for president!

  • I think that of all of them, Ron Paul is the only one with a shred of a chance of actually lowering taxes. He's the only one who's plan will cut spending big time--bring home the troops. As far as a real follow through, his 10 terms in office consistently following through on campaign promises and never wavering should say everything.

  • When Ronald Reagan first took office one of the first things he did was order an audit of the spending in the government. One of the conclusions of the audit was that money raised from the federal income tax does not go towards services expected by taxpayers. I assume its a mystery regarding exactly where the income tax ends up. Most of the governmental services we enjoy in this country are paid for by local, state, and excise taxes.

  • All those who may be intrigued by Huckabee's position concerning the federal income tax need to understand that the governor simply wants to replace the income tax with an extremely high sales tax, as high as 30% some have estimated. So, Ron Paul is still the only candidate who seriously wants to lift the tax burden off of the American people.

  • I hope people take note of what Ron Paul said here. He is the only one who addresses the whole issue. He's not going to feed you just a one liner of crap that has no merit or way of being orchestrated.

  • Huckabee is so full of crap! He has no record to support his claims. His talk of Flat tax is so out of whack, and his rhetoric of doing away with the IRS.... I am curious what Huckabee would replace the IRS with..."Tax Security Department" designed with Huckabees funny money numbers? I dont think any of the candidates understand how much money the Government is spending of our money other then Dr. Paul.

  • damn Giulliani said that he got the best record when he was mayor,.. now could anybody ask the NYfirefighters about that????

  • ron paul made the absolute best answer.

  • What about a tax cut on wasteful military spending?

  • I am a military vet and I have two brothers one in Iraq one in Afghanistan. I get fed up with the frivolous spending. Its always a touchy topic because people do not understand how the system works. For example the F22 raptor program, sounds good but really is not necessary and way to expensive. If people really wanted to support the troops the money would go to better equipment for the foot soldiers not to big government special interest contracts.

  • You are right about that. But i honestly dont believe in military intervention unless our national security is at stake. The UN does not run our country, WE DO!

  • The US created the UN...and the United Nations is a representation of exactly what the name says. To go against them is the same as a player doing something against what his/her team wants them to do. The US is the superpower of the world with all their nukes...but that doesn't mean it is the smartest

  • The US created the UN? Did we the people create the UN? How dare you as a foreigner tell an American he should take marching orders from foreigners when they decide its time to go to war. You authoritarian foreigners have no respect for liberty and should STAY OUT of AMERICAN politics.

  • No respect for liberty? Where do you get that knowledge from? And the same way he said the US created the UN is the same regard as you saying "UN does not run our country, WE DO!" If you instead of the administration did...you wouldn't be at war anymore since 70% of Americans don't want a war due to loss of life, inflation, and TRILLIONS of dollars of debt

  • From my experience with talking to foreigners many of them favor socialism and big government...Anyway im talking about idealy we should run our country as much as possible even if its not much(nothing now). The constitution should be restored to where congress has the authority to declare war not the president. Since the UN was made presidents have declared unauthorized wars under UN resolutions. Im saying we should take our country back.

  • vstuffv dont patronize me, you think i dont know the administration does what it pleases? Americans need to start voting for presidents that will act for the interest of america not the "UN" and special interest groups. We cant afford to be the military arm of the "UN" and we never could...noone can. Iraq was no threat to our security neither is Iran.

  • wasn't trying to patronize...but I applaud your comment here. Cheers.
