Very great and important topic today, because emotional ups and downs do affect those of us who struggled with emotional eating before WLS. I still find myself reaching for food sometimes when I am stressed, but now I try to mentally stop myself and ask, "Are you really hungry or are you just bored/upset/etc.?"
Great question and great ANSWER. I like you talking about how you meditate. When it comes to my emotions in regard to weight loss I feel pretty UP because I have achieved my goal! What's challenging for me is to not let the DOWN's of other parts of my life get to me. I am glad that I have learned to not turn to food when things are tough. I have detached food from my emotions and that helps me stay on track in keeping the weight off!
