  • Que ignorante este tipo, aferrado a que le cante una diva. Debe entender que la voz se tiene que preparar con anticipación para poder lucirla. Que horror de entrevistador. A esta mujer le hizo falta programa y a ella le quedó pequeño ese programa.

  • That interviewer havent been on tv for over 15 years...does him well, we have much better interviewers in holland who would interview her with more respect!

  • Yma was such a beautiful, elegant, smart, talented woman, and how angry it makes me feel to see the rudeness of this interviewer, to have to make others feel like what they're saying isn't interesting...how miserable this guy is.

  • what a sweet Ladie and a completly motherfucker there....

  • You can tell from watching this that she was a very warm woman with great stories. It would've been great if someone did a more lengthy interview with her where she talked about her whole life and performing all over the world. Like if she went on Dick Cavet or the old Merv Griffin show, where they did real interviews.

  • great singer ...respect from Serbia

  • She was very happy to be with her family. So her talent is from her nature and creation. No training needed. Pure talent.

  • See guys if you just practice you can have that voice! even she said she had to work on it and guess what? Mariah Carey's mother was a voice teacher. She had to have something to do with Mariah's range.

  • Why have her on this show, someone with a big history, and then ask her tell it, then say you don't have much time? lol they are idiots!

  • Una leyenda !

  • What an insolent bastard... what kind of gratitude is that, those are not manners to say good bye.

  • ohhh i love those eyes so powerfully and her voice so enchanting te amo Yma

  • what an earth is she wearing!...

  • ¡¡ HASTA PARA RESPONDERLE A UN INSOLENTE TENIA TODA LA CLASE DE UNA PRINCESA INCA !!

  • I'd wager that any of you faithful Yma fans would change your minds about her character if you actually spent some time with her... and inadvertently said something... anything at all... that she interpreted as being even a mild criticism of her singing. I like listening to Yma's music. Especially the early albums. But she was not a person whom I particularly admired. Though I do confess to having felt a bit sorry for her.

  • Why does he keep on interrupting her???

  • SHE IS THE PERFECT EXAMPLE THAT SOMEONE BORN WITH CLASS

  • @BOHEMIANMEX Actually, she's a perfect example of a publicity whore who was completely forgotten for thirty years, made a brief comeback, and had to come up with an explanation for why no one had heard of her for 30 years. All without bruising her own ego. I've liked Yma since I was a child. But facts are facts. In all her post-1950s interviews, Yma is *very* defensive. Why not just admit that no one cared about her talents for 30 years, but now the tides have changed?

  • That guy was rude, and not classy at all, he needs to learn how to speak to a voice Goddess and be humbled by her..

  • @Jantica if that's what he was trying to do then he failed immensely, the way he keeps hurrying her up it's offensive even to me as a viewer...she deserved to be treated better.

  • The interviwer acts like a jerk.

  • "You never did songs that told a story they were more or less excercises."

    Insulting.

  • The interviewer is fine. Madame Sumac was fine. Sh*t happens when the native language of the interviewer and the subject is not the language of the interview.

  • that interviewer...ugh!

  • Comment removed

  • bloodie rude, if you don't want to hear the answer don't make the question. The idiot was in a rush... is not a good interviewer if he doesn't know how to manage the interview and become offensive

  • I think he really didn'know who is SHE...Stupid...

Yma Sumac the best forever...She'sTHE VOICE for me

  • He got mad because she didn't want to sing, I'd guess...

  • He was so rude because Mrs. Sumack had better hat than queen Beatrix ;)

  • She's a lady and the glory of Peru!

  • omg im cringing at how rude the interviewer was!

  • is dutch...sometimes they're like that,,,

  • @Luke19Wales - your are right, but remember, the interviewer is hollands. It is not his fault.

  • the interviewer is rude.

  • I wish he would let her talk without interfering. How rude!

  • I KNOW! someone needs to slap him but she handled it so well! i loved her answers about how her songs DO HAVE STORIES and not just exercises!

  • The interviewer was annoying and not very respecful. Dick!

  • The interviewer seems very rude.

  • Even when talking, she had a nice and warm voice! LOVE HER!!!!

  • fenomenalny głos, urok i dama w każdym calu...

  • La princesa era Fan de de Yma Sumac...great !

  • She was the most impressing singer...

  • That was fantasic! I have never seen it befofe. I have always loved her many versions of her "resting" from 1972 to 1984! In truth, she was here in Los Angeles, living a relatively normal life. She came back around in the 1980's to a huge, new, young, cult following. She is so cute, I can hardly stand it sometimes! This video is a joy.
