Stupid amateur...sigh. if you remove the keys, don't use a fucking screwdriver, it will only damage the keys, you need to use a key remover tool, cheap and effective. And stop bitching about modern keyboards and how good the old ones were, when that keyboard is just a crappy cheapass rubber dome, just as crappy as any modern keyboard out there. If we talk about quality, we talk about mechanical keyboards, but not this junk....sigh
@needfordylan My new one (the Filco Majestotouch Pro 2) is actually WAY better than this rubberdome kbd, it's a true key keyboard with n-key-Rollover.
@linuxgeek81 Then why the fuck are claiming that the olds ones were so much better you idiot? Age has nothing to do with it. A rubber dome in 1990 is just as bad any other rubber dome in 2012.
Damn, makes me sad that i have a G15 keybored... i like my NORMAL FLAT KEYBORED...Teh screen on my keybored is ANOYYING IT'S BIG AND CAN'T GO UNDER MY LG FLAT SCREEN MONATOR IT'S STUPID I NEED SPACE!
Once I spilled a glass of orange juice on my keyboard and every time I pressed a key, it would output 4-5 keys on the screen (for example I pressed 'A' and it printed 'AQWXD'). I ended up buying another one, in fact one with those with the extra keys nobody needs. One day I decided to open it up, cleaned the membrane and sure enough, it worked again.
The best keyboard I ever owned I got with my first PC in 1995, made by Gateway. I threw it away after I got a new PC and regretted it forever =(. New keyboards are wither media / wireless keyboards, which I don't want, or are low quality build.
@snaggle90 Unfortunately, yes. I was looking for a new one some time ago and was even willing to spend extra money (abou EUR100). However instead of quality you get tons of useless features and 100 extra keys nobody needs. It's a shame.
@linuxgeek81 I would check out the Customizer 104 it is a re branded version of the classic IBM Keyboard. Made by the same company that made them back then, using the same insides. Google "Customizer 104"
