The mapping of the genome in the mid 90s was the big test for evolution theory which was validated by genetics. @deerheadlight Lets say a certain food source that tortoises eat requires a longer neck for one reason or another. Let's say that of all the tortoises born 5% are born with longer necks. They have an advantage over the short necked tortoises. So they are more likely to have offspring because of this advantage. And they will pass on their "long necked" genes. The short necked versions will die out because they cant reach the food source leaving only long necked tortoises.

It's certainly true that the justice system tends to punish minorities and poor people more harshly than whiter and/or wealthier individuals. It's also true that the laws and system tend impact poor and minority people disproportionately. However, the claim that the drug war itself is based in racism is silly. If Ron Paul wants to make that claim he can, but it could be more convincingly argued that the policies of Ron Paul and the Republicans hurt far more poor and minorities than the drug war.
