what an amazing track, this man was (and still is) so full of ideas, way ahead of the pack, who else could icorperate, funk, jazz, rock, disco and prog and get such sounds...genius.
my first ever concert. steve hillage , manchester palace theatre, 1977 i think. anyhow, thereafter i was a massive fan. saw him at deeply vale, reading rock, when he guested with sham 69 (who were getting canned and booed till steve came on). his music takes me to so many places." a set of organised vibrations known as music."
@2009elbow It's always going to be one of those tracks that remain timeless....many thanks for finding it,enjoying it and taking time to comment and share golden memories.Thank you.Peace my friend.
I've been learning the solo on this one for 2 days now. Those bends are murdering my fingers because I use harder strings. Just now I struck blood after 4 years o.O
Green was the first Hillage album I bought, and this track immediately stood out as the gem that it is. Steve's mastery of echo effects is stunning, I saw him and his band a few times (Rainbow theatre in late 70's was the first), and was at Reading the year Steve jammed with Sham 69. I don't have a record player any more, so haven't heard this song in many years - Thanks for uploading, Scalpsie!
Some of Steve's work was absolutely bloody awful (real vegetable music), but gems like this more than make up for it. A great musician, and from what I understand, a really great guy. Nice one, Steve!
I went to Deeply Vale free festival in 1978 and remember Hillage coming on stage just as the rainfall ceased - like Woodstock in 69 when Neil Young appeared so I hear. 1978 was of course the Green tour. Still my favourite album. Thanks for uploading, pure class.
Haven't heard this for a while (don't play my cassettes much these days!). Absolutely sublime example of Mr Hillage's musical mastery! Makes me feel emotional. Thanks so much for posting.
Steve Hillage is amazing! I love his music! This song is a true masterpiece. Words alone cannot express my love for this song! As for the video,I know it's not a proper music video so I don't judge it for not being one, however, I think it is pretty fucking amazing to watch, especially when you are in love, like me :) And I think Steve would like it too. Peace xxx
@Gruliet Many, many thanks for viewing and so pleased that you took time to post your views which are hugely appreciated.Delighted you liked the song so much and see the video for what it is...merely my view of how I see some of the moods as played through the music...I appreciate your honesty and thank you,Peace and contentment my friend and happiness in love.

@azzaggax but some very pretty nice girls in there..The song tells about LOVE,so what the hell is your problem? Why always being soooo seeeriouuusss about the so called psychedelic music? I bet Steve H. would like that video !

Steve Hillage is touring just now and this song is part of the set, saw them in amsterdam, totally amazing, brought back so many memories, thanks for posting
scalpsie, Thanks for the reply. In1976, I was 16 and had no idea who Steve Hillage was. In a local record shop i saw the cover of the "L" album and thought it looked cool. I could just tell he was a great guitarist just by the picture on the cover. Don't you just love it when a hunch turns out to be right? I noticed one of the songs was called "It's All too Much" and figured it had to be The Beatles song, Right again. a great version. I loved The Fab Four and George was my favorite. Still is.
Hillage is GOD! A criminally overlooked guitarist. A sound and style all his own, just like his musick. I think "L" is his best work. Great cover of George Harrison's "It's All Too Much". I think the quiet Beatle would be pleased.
yeah - the feel of this tune is just extraordinary! such relaxed mellowness with intrinsic, intense energy. been listening to it since the mid-seventies.
Actually, now I've watched it instead of just listening, realise you feature my all time favourite movie The Notebook. Mucho respecto hombre. And every listen gets better. GREAT post, thanks so much! Oh, shhhhhhh before everyone gets in on the glid. :)
The video doesn't matter. How can anyone conjure so much emotion from such a simple instrument as a guitar. Listen and behold. You WILL be converted.
I recall the first time I heard this song: I was flicking through the records at OUR PRICE in Liverpool. I totally froze as this magical music caressed me. A VERY emotional experience - my eyes filled with tears. They still do. Utterly beautiful music.
Way cool ....magical comment ...funny how some songs just 'stick' with us so beautifully ....many thanks for viewing and enjoying ...happy it stirred some good thoughts and emotions.Peace my friend.
