i have the same sub and i powered it to a sundown 3000d in my friends car (i dont have mids and highs yet) and the sub kept popping on certain songs...scared the fuck outta me. what do u think that was? someone told me its cuz im pushing it way over rms power but shit a lot of ppl put more than 2000 watts on a btl and it seems fine.

You cant just factor in the sub and the amp. You have to look at vehicle specifics and box specifics. From the sound of it, your box is probably too big.

damn that was ridiculous. how do the higher notes sound when tuned to 34hz though? I'm debating tuning my box to 34, or 32. Can't decide. Either a 12", or an 18" btl. I'm thinking 12 for the tight highs though. Oh, and here's a weird question. How do you like your accord? I've been thinking about getting one. year?

Highs sound just fine. But to be honest I wouldnt mess with like 80hz over, that is what component speakers are for.

I would tune the box to 34 honestly for a nice daily ride, 34 hits all the lows just fine. If you can fit an 18, do it. The 18 hits the highs just as well, a buddy of mine has one.

And I love the accord, mines a 2000, dont get a 98-99, they are slightly different.

Yea, i've been in the market for a new car for a while, and i've always liked the accord, but never really saw the inside, and your videos made me decide to get one.

never knew 18's hit highs too. I have a 15" spl sub right now, and it sounds ilke shit on the highs, and i was really disappointed. Just figured it was the box though. Any recommendations on the components along with the 18" though? Not new to the car audio game, just never had as much bump as a fi btl
