  • I watched Elizabeth Edwards's funeral on C-SPAN and this hymn was the final hymn as it was a request of Elizabeth's so I feel that her strongest impact on me was giving me an avenue to become familiar to this hymn...and I know that Elizabeth is somehow enjoying this choir sing it as well

    In memoriam: Elizabeth Edwards (July 3, 1949-December 7, 2010)

  • My grandmother---who I am very close to---died on August 14, 2007. We sang this song at her funeral.

  • @USAGRL12783 i am sorry...this is a beautiful and your grandmother has my full gratitude

  • I have to sing this for Chorus, and I'm inlove with it.

  • This has always been my favorite hymn and this is beautifully done.

  • Beautiful composition, thank you Natalie Sleeth, (rest in peace) Would prefer to hear 4-part choral version.

The text moves me to literal tears every time I hear this piece. I get choked up a bit during the 2nd verse and by the middle of the 3rd verse I can't sing along anymore for my weeping.

I'm a former Christian fundie turned Christian athiest. The theology of the text is primative, as is that of too many Christians. Still a beautiful in it's simplicity. I'll always love this hymn.

  • Very beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
