@purplekittybun Anonymous Bodies In An Empty Room which was an official bootleg issued on this tour. You could probably find downloads on the web of it. There are other live recordings from various shows you could track down and also at the SWANS site.
strongly disagree.....saw them (with living color, yes, opening up) before the lp came out and was blown away by all these new songs and the way they were delivered.....when the lp came out it sounded far to clean and sterile and had no bass and i was bummed.......but i listened to it a million times anyway.......it could've been good if it was mixed by anybody other than bill laswell who did an awful job....lol.
Yeah, MCA and those other major labels, they sign a band because they like their sound, and then they want to change them to make them more listener friendly or something, only to turn out shit product, blame the band and dump them. I'd never want to deal with a big label.
yea and mca made them do that sappy joy division cover......i guess the swans cooperated, then were like 'fuck it, why alienate our audience' -- then they came out with 'white light' and burning world' both of which i bought and still have.....they should be reissued.
it was weird......like one crowd of living color fans out., then the swans in.........my friend, billwyman preferred living color and my brothers friend was non too impressed.......i rememeber they were on fire and did an especially great version of this song.....this video hardly captures it.......but thx for the memories just the same!
HA HA I caught the Final Tour, thought I'd bring a friend with me to hear something new, heh, he was bored stiff. Not an easy band on first listen for some people, nah, he's just a musical idiot.
I wouldn't expect Living Color fans, to get this band. I never caught what was so great about L.C. either. Ok, but mostly uninteresting, funk metal to me.
They just seemed like same old same old to me (Living Color)........I went to see the Swans and was blown over by them........it's funny whenever I'd drag people to see them they'd always hate me for it -- so, in a way, Living color saved the night.......lol......."cult of personaliy" -- eeeeeeeesh.
Now if more people would open up their ears and forget what the radio tells them to listen to or the dreck that popular media shoves in their sallow faces daily they'd FINALLY hear some kick ass tunes.
See God's Sun Go Down Behind That Hill See God's Sons Go Down That Lonely Road See God's Sun Fall Behind That Hill In Darkness See God's Sons Go Down That Godforsaken Road Then See Us Need More Then See No More See Us Deliver Where Other Men Will Fail See Us Hold Heaven While Others Burn In Hell See Us God's Sons, Guarding Heaven's Gate Then See Our Sun Go Black Because We Made One Mistake Then See Us Need More Then See No More
I used to listen music many hours per day just to end with one album from them.Nowadays are highly recommended Naevus from UK.This is my favourite track from Swans too
i saw the swans deliver this and other songs from 'burning world' in 1987 at spring gardens in nj, opening up for living color......when the lp came out i was very disappointed at how sterile and smooth everything sounded....still a very good lp though, in a studio context.
Dammit this isn't Joe Jonas.

This song is sooooooooo amazing and addicting and way better live!
I wish I had a chance to see Jarboe and Gira live when I still had the chance!
Best show ever I bet.

This seriously kicks the shit out of the album version. Awesome performance.

Burning World era is their worst period.

Gira wouldn't argue that point, ha ha. I still think this is a kick ass tune, here, though.

WTF they did a show with Living Color?
How gracious of them (not being sarcastic either)

Funny to think of those two bands at the same show, but being label mates at the time, makes sense.
