  • Thanks to You Tube for this...

Timeless piece and most interesting is that the # of views has been going higher in 2012. This says something about mainstream media and Hollywood...maybe get your act together?

    800 channels and nothing on!

  • I like this live version but listen to the live one where they perform at Massey hall in toronto 1985, it's much better in my opinion

  • Yes !

  • GREAT GREAT GREAT NO MORE WORDS

  • This really brings back a lot of memories. Makes me kinda sad to think that that part of my life is gone for forever.

  • aewsome!

  • Tears for fears now that's what i call real music, sick and tired of the hip hop crap.

  • superb

  • Good old '90 with a beautifil '80 song

  • One of the most brilliant bands of the 80's era! Rule the World is in a league of it's own!

First I heard it on it's chart release and that Album joined my CD collection (CD's were still relatively new then!)

  • Incredible... I love Tears For Fears....

  • @byllsouza I'll echo that. Incredible. Quality. Live or recorded. These guys are a class act. <3

  • you cant teach guitar tone!! smash!!

  • sick version.

  • I like the original the best

  • As always, Neil Taylor is absolutely f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s!!!

  • bigpopfan, is a good video!!! gongratulations for you!! I like very much.......

  • @dowling1981

Um, did you even LOOK at the Rock Band 3 set list yet? Everybody Wants to Rule the World is on Rock Band 3. Go look at the set list on Wikipedia and prove that I'm wrong.

  • Can't wait to play this song on Rock Band 3. It's one of the 83 on disc songs in the game.

  • @KRFan88 It isn't on Rock Band 3. You are thinking of 'A Finton Warrior' by the Mandroid Wreckhearts, ken?

  • @ bigpopfan

Thank you for posting this on YouTube. This by far was the best rendition of that song. TFF certainly outdid themselves from their original version in that concert.

  • I want the percussion bitch!! Bring her to me now!!!

  • Comment removed

  • massa

  • I want the percussion bitch! I want her now!!!

  • this video can not be from 1992, curt smith left the band by then, had to be pre 1991

  • Yeah..it's a great video...I always liked this song..it's AWESOME!

  • It's Neil Taylor.

  • it seems to me this song went a little bit faster than they did.

  • Roland grew a little old, while Curt looked the same

  • I have this concert. Could do without the backup chics but love "our boys"!! TFF rocks any day of the week for me!!

They are touring starting in April 'i0 with Spandau Ballet in Australia/NZ. Plz check out Curt Smith site 2 get the lastest tour info about TFF. Just google Curt Smith to get to his official site. I tried to leave the site address but YT won't let me... that's fine. Roland does not have a website yet and not sure when or if he will. Curt is where we get the info from right now.

  • GREAT 80S SONG CURT SMITH IS GREAT

  • Go Neil Taylor!!!!

  • Great group, tremendous sound...ah, music, where has it gone? TFF learned and borrowed a lot from the best, The Beatles. It's no wonder the Beatles remastered discs are smashing records...2.5 million in 5 days. TFF were musicians first, everything else next.

  • it's a amazing group that i love since 20 years.

it is real music with talents

  • Strange, how you can barely hear the audience. Seems like they purposedly muted them, or turned them down low in the editing for this vid.

  • Some of the most intelligent music written in the 20th century.

  • Sends shivers up muh spine. <3 TFF forever.

  • I wished I was there to watch it live

  • Bro, this wasn't 92. This was 1990. DVD Tears for Fears - Live from Santa Barbara. 5/5

  • bellaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • ahhhh my childhood song!! =)

  • great!!

  • nice song ever...

  • Ahhh...memories. ;-)

  • I wish I could dance with them on the stage! The music is so beautiful

  • I wish I could've been at that concert. They all looked like they had such a great time!

  • dubyadubyadotcurtsmithofficialdotcom

  • I love Tears!!

They sound exactly like they do on album!! <3

  • people say i look a bit like the lead singer???????????

  • Very Good !

  • chevere this song

  • No problem... I didn't take it that way... some people can't read inflection in the written word.

Any word if they're ever coming back to Canada to perform?

  • Nope I haven't heard anything yet. I asked Curt if there's any chance that TFF will make any tour stops in Canada through his website.

  • I know that they haven't been to Toronto in such a long time. I was almost 9 when they were filming the Head Over Heels video at the library at U of T, which was in the spring of 1985. Then they did two shows at Massey Hall on the 30th and 31st of May.

I really wish that they'd hurry up and tour.

  • me gusta mas como suena en vivo que ya en formato mp3 me encanta tears for fears forever!!!!

  • does anyone know where I can find tabs for the solo or even the whole song?

  • Great performance! =)

  • this dvd,Going to California,is probably the best live TFF I've seen.Flawless!

  • Although I think there are too many people on that stage.. No need.

  • bloody perfect.

  • What caused them to break up in the first place?

  • I think Roland wanted to rush everything while Curt wanted to take everything slow. On top of that, Curt had some love affairs, so things didn't quite work out. Thank god they finally got back together. Everybody loves a happy ending.

  • nice

  • Gracias Claudita por enviarme este link, la verdad es que no escuchaba esta canción hacía mucho tiempo. Me encanta!! 10 puntos.

  • Is the drummer shown here Chris Hughes?

  • No, his name is Jim Copley.

  • most live versions of songs dont sound good at all, but this is perfect! I love the vocals, they did everything perfect.

  • great performance

  • Curt Smith! He is the best. Check out his solo effort "Halfway Pleased" It is great.

  • i prefer roland orazabal

  • Can any body tell me who the lead guitarist is who did the final solo?

  • Neil Taylor. He was the one who actually composed that last solo for this song.

  • Cheers mate. (a year late replying to you)

  • i just can't believe how flawless the vocals are. Curt Smith is great live.

  • gotta love tears for fears no matter what

  • unas de la mejores cosa de esa decada.....menos la moda!!!

  • This must be the best live version ever! :)

  • I love this version. I have this DVD and it is excellent! They are in top form here.

  • yeah they rock ,but are to under credited

  • One of the greatest pop songs of all time...

  • This song makes me happy and hopeful

  • Man, this has got to be the greatest TFF number of all time. Shame it only reached number 2 in the charts back in 1985, only number 1 would have been worthy for such a timeless classic. The lyrics are pure genius & the music just melds together with them like a dream. And to think that the band hesitated in actually recording this song let alone releasing it is shocking. It's not only their best song, but one of the greatest of all time! Timeless.

  • WOW!!! nice version!

    I love this song!!! :)x100000000000

  • Is that Porcaro on the drums??

  • Absolutely amazing version!! One of my favorite songs EVER. Epic IS the word, my friend.

And one of the greatest songs of all time. Period!

  • 'All for freedom & for pleasure - nothing ever lasts forever'........so true. Fuckin' epic. LOVE this song.

  • Get the whole show from the "seeds of love" tour in 1989, live at the Hollywood Bowl. VCD called "Going to California"

  • who the heck is that guy who comes out of nowhere to play the closing solo???

  • thats chris hughes play the closing solo

  • Sorry, it's not Chris. That's Neil Taylor playing the final solo on Roland's Strat walnut. It was he who played the same solo for the actual soundtrack in "Songs from the Big Chair". Very talented.

  • Yes. Neil Taylor composed the second guitar solo on "Everybody Wants to Rule the World".

  • No it's not. It's Neil Taylor.

  • Um kent that's Neil Taylor.
