I bought my JT1 60cc with my paper route money for $450 back in the early 70's. I loved that bike and it gave me some of the best memories of my youth.
Four years ago, after many years of dreaming of riding it in my sleep I found a JT2 on craigslist and purchased it.
Take the carb off again and remove the pilot jet and clean it out with a pin,it should be a small brass jet screwed into the bottom of the carb. If the fuel petcock on the tank has a small bowl on it there is a screen in there that might be partially plugged. Also clean out the fuel tank of old gas, there is probably solidified gas in there from sitting ,it looks like white powder. Good Luck!
So i got the bike running (sort of) and i cant get it to stay running i cleaned the carb and i got a half lap around a tennis court but ever since then it just goes for a milla second but before i cleaned the carb i couldnt go anywere but it would run for about 2 minutes so what should i do
My parents bought me the mx model in 71 or 72. I was 11 at the time. Loved that little bike. Mine was yellow and was in the picture window of the dealership. Seems like it was 299.00 and included the helmet. I still have the owners manual.
@Mkewl2006 I was fortunate to have my dad buy me a 1972 mini enduro when I was 11 years old in 1972 .It was yellow and black without lights .Dear ol dad didn.t want to pay the extra for the lights. It cost $300.00 new. That was the best summer of my life.I still have the owners card.I wish I would have kept it ,but I sold it to get 1974 TM100 which I raced in real motocross events.
I am restoring one of these little bikes right now .... What a blast, things back then were classics thats why their worth so much ! These little motorcycles are going for 3000-5000 dollars. What a great time to have been a kid.........
Best overall bike ever built. I have owned over 40 motorcycles, from Yamaha's to Triumphs to Harleys to KTM's - and nothing ever came close to the little JT-1. 60cc of pure fun, 4-speed (1-2-3-4 - all down).
My Dad bought 2 of these for my older brothers back in 1971. I got after one after 3 years of my brother trashing. Kept it together with wire and duck tape and made I didn't take to big of jumps off it or else everything would break on it.
this was the perfect mini-cylce...my two friends each had the version w/ the lights i guess that was the mini-enduro.. i was a bit taller so the salesman told my dad it was too small for me & i ended up w/ a Suzuki gaucho -50cc it was not as quick but the top-end was a bit faster it took time but i eventually would pass my buds on thier yamaha's we also had a few Honda bikes too the ct-70 trail & the sx-70 remember that one..those were fun times the early 70's..lol
When I was a kid we'd go to Muntz Mortorcycle park in Simi Valley, CA and my Dad would rent a couple of these for my sister and I to ride. Then we got one for Christmas. I loved that little bike. It was the perfect size and power. And when I got too big for it, the YZ80 came out just in time.
I had one, too. It was 4 down and 4 up. The acceleration from a dead stop was incredible. My top speed was about 40-45. Wheelies wouldn't roll very far on the stock carb. It was quiet with the silencer, but gave a chainsaw voice when it was pulled out. Plug changes were mandatory every 2-3 months because Gulftane gas burned dirty at 28 cents a gallon.
The first motorcycle I ever had. My parents bought it for me when I was 12 and a half in 1972. Such a great bike. Tough as nails and ultra reliable. A clutch and 4 gears. 55 MPH top speed and plenty peppy for 60cc. A step up from the Honda mini-trails, CT 70's and SL 70's other kids had. I loved my Yamaha Mini Enduro. Wish I still had it. I'd love to find a mint used one. Probably cost a small fortune, it being almost 40 years old. I have an IT250 and had an XJ1100. Nothing but Yamaha for me!
I saved my lawn cutting money for months and bought one of these brand new (the Yellow/White one) I believe it was around $300. I recently bought another just like if off ebay for $1500 and I'm doing a partial engine rebuild on it - super cool bikes!
Probably a crazy question, but who do y0u think is singing the song in your video? Sounds like someone i have heard before. Maybe you could have a contest?!! Yeah, I'm crazy, but Maybe it'll work?::))) Offer a subscrition to your channel for the winner! Just surfing my brother. Peace foreveryonewhotries!

I giggle in joy every time I ride it.

Have a 1972 Yamaha JT2 to sell. Send me a message and I'll send details. Not restored, not running but in reasonably good condition
