Hello, I am a Romanov to and I have alway's been one. My husband and I are having our seventh child, our first boy, Alexei. Our (future) son has been diagnosed with hemophilia as well. OTMA remind me so much of my daughter's, they call themselves ATESKA, Atoinette, Tatiana, Ekaterina, Selenastasia, Konstantina and Anastasia. Beautiful v

@dianesylvia in fairness he had no idea how to rule, normally they are taught how things should be done etc... but when his father died he was completely unprepared for ruling a nation and thusly (and perhaps a little naively) left himself open to some very questionable council from those around him....

Great monarchs are always denoted by their ability to make excellent choices, respond speedily and positively to their countrys needs, taking good council only and - if they must be a military monarch - to be completely versed in warfare (an excellent strategist is always a plus). Unfortunately, Nicholai was none of the above. I really don't mean to be scathing, but it was just such a tragedy.

@gotch09 Aristocracy has five hierarchies (in ascending order). Baron, Viscount, Earl (count), Marquess, Duke. A duke has the same level as a prince. A royal prince or princess always has a ducal title. In Austria, the imperial princes had the title of Archduke/Archduchess. In Russia, their title was Grand Duke/Grand Duchess. Essentially the same.
