this game may get a lot of hate because of how beautiful and powerful the original game had but it's not supposed to be an exact remake. it's supposed to remind us of why Tomb Raider was such a powerful character and series. We may not have seen most levels but it's still a beautiful homage to Tomb Raider 1.

@minervacori Totally agree, theres nothing wrong with this remake, and your right its not suppose to be an exact remake of the game, i think both games are very powerful, and there both great. I like the fact that in 'anniversary' Lara's controls are alot more easy to learn and get used to, but the 'Original' the game is alot harder and makes you think more and solve more puzzles, so in a way Both games are brillant. (just my opinion) :)

damoclus room after u have survived form that huge boulder dash,those swords hanging from the ceiling and u have shot that spider beeing in tense trying to survive and kill it and then having to find where u have to go to find the lever.u pull it and then those zip lines appear(traps)as u fall down in a huge goergous room full of water.ur up high and as u look down theres a beautifull pool with great painitngs and u have to go down there.all u have to do is 2 jump.

I don't know about everyone else, but to me this is the best TR game made so far. Better than Legend, better than Underworld.

It has the spirit of the original from 1996, but none of the drawbacks. It's 100% pure Lara Croft.

I played this and have to say I was dissapointed, like many of you probably coz it wasn't what I expected at all.I played TR1 and it gives you a unique feeling of sadness, and lonelyness mabye butit's really beautiful. I didn't feel anything of it in this one,I wish they would have made it exactly as it was back then but only with better graphs. Tomb Raider has lost its originality now and it's becoming more and more like an ordinary game ,easily comparable, I mean. "Guardian of light" is...idk

Since this was a remake of the first one, I hope there will be remakes of TR 2,3 and IV in the nearest future. Hearing this soundtrack is just amazing, really makes you nostalgic from the good old days of psone. I hope they make tomb raider games like the old ones, adventures, animals and creatures, old myths and tombs, and not about shooting some bad buys all the time. Although you had to some times in the old one, but not so much:) Tomb raider 1-4 was my childhood, no words to describe it.

ok, i had this game voucher i had to spend soonish, went into this shop and wanted to pick any random game, I saw this game in the preowned section. when i was little i played the really early version of TR, I was like 5 and it really scared me! but I thought, 'why not?' I bought it, and everything was EPIC! but i do agree with shockvalue, the calm to sudden dramatic music really scared me sumtimes when animals came out of nowhere!!!(but in a fun way!) even if gun games isn't your thing GET IT!!

Anniversary isn't too hard...but the bears in the caves in Peru scared the piss out of me. I look around, nothing's there. Start lowering my guard and all the sudden I hear "ROAAAAAR!!!!".

I Love Tomb Raider it is the best game ever......too bad i couldn't play every game :( only TR 1,2,Legend, Anniversary and Underworld and AoD. I really liked how they made a remake of number 1 because the graphics were obviously better which made it scarier and i love how she could do more moves which made climbing and fighting more intense :D

Some of my fondest childhood memories are those of me watching my older sister play the original tomb raider games (she was/is a beast at them). When I fun out that there was a anniversary edition I nearly died. My sister bought it and I watched her play. When she first started playing it made me, a 17 year old boy, cry. It really brought me back. Only a truly amazing video game series could evoke such emotion in a person. I cherish those memories and I cherish these games.

@supersimsboy Actually it was because they wanted to bring Natla back, and with the 10th anniversary coming they took the oppurtunity to A) Mark the 10th anniversary with a remake and celebrate everything awesome about Lara and B) to remind people of the story of Natla without forcing them to replay a game they may not have, either way although their plan wasn't to create a story that would continue after a 10 year gap, it did link surprisingly well.

This is a great remake of the first Tomb Raider game with better graphics, better music scores, better storyline improvisation and last and not least, more of Lara's acrobatic prowess.

I only own TR1, TR3 and TR:LR when I still have my PSX. And the Anniversary game is the first Tomb Raider game I owned for the PS2.

@MariaCroft I luv this sing so much. it's really close to The 1st and 3rd main theme... it reminds me my childhood. And the remake of anniversary has mixed between the old and the new lara croft. Tomb Raider was the first game that i ever played on my PSX. Now i got all the TR games on my pc :')

There are also collector editions with all classic TR games in one, those aren't even that old.
