  • He got there eventually what a great pull. Did the guy in the red overall give the engine a sniff of something, looks like he sprays easy start at about 4:10. Anyway thanks for posting the video

  • why does the engine sputters?

  • why wasnt the tractor warmed up?

  • That must be an "economy size" can of ether

  • THAT WAS FUCKING GAY

  • piece of shit!

  • Not good

  • Most high performance diesel engines that run 60+ pounds of boost usually have a lower compression ratio to keep the head on the engine.. SO when the engine is starting you obviousley don't have the boost to make the engine run right, so yes you get unburnt diesel and white smoke. Diesel engines use the heat of the compression to ignite the fuel, so if you have a lower compression ratio you will have a hard time starting the engine.. Ever try to start a weak diesel on a cold day

  • Comment removed

  • Why even try?

  • Nobody.........No matter where you are from can talk shit about that pull!! That bad boy right there is ready to do the damn thing! You got the right recipe !!! you will learn more about diesels and pulling as whole by keeping your mouth shut and your ears and eyes open, than you ever will getting told about it.....Southern Virginia. USA.... Over and OUT!

  • hey man. im naked!! p

  • i can´t see any trouble

  • Holy Smoke, what was wrong with that thing? it sure seemed to do good during the pull, though.

  • Low compression pistons to allow more fuel making more boost from turbo/s

  • 850dan: nobody even makes a 2-stroke diesel for automotive/over the road truck use anymore they were useless lag pigs no power and leaked more oil than they could hold.

White smoke was from really low compression pistons 10:1 not enough compression to fire over the diesel fuel until the cylinder get hot. The lower the compression the more room there is in the cylinder to fill with diesel and high boost pressure from the turbos. All really high performance diesel engines de-compress like this.

  • They lower the static compression ratio to keep from blowing heads, head gaskets etc.... not because it allows to more fuel and air to fill the cylinder.

  • hey my grandpa told me that and i think he nos alot more than u guys do

  • you are fucking stupid the more commpresion the more power !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Do you know what your talking about?

When they take out these powers from a diesel engine they lower compression as much as possible.

  • oo i didnt know that one damn i made my self look so stupid but why i dont get it ? why do they take as much for lower commpression ? but i know that in regular cars the more commpression the more power

  • You can go for higher turbo boost with low compression.

  • engine can rev harder with less compression

  • thats not thru!! read the other comments, power in this engine's is coming from the max turbo boost , the more air you can get in the cilinder, the more feul you can combust, the higher the explosion force!, in normal diesels you can't get as hy forces by max turbo pres!, , its nothing like a normal diesel!!

  • massa di idioti

  • a lot of smoke and flames... boring

but the pull at the end was very nice

  • really nice

  • Very nice pull :)

  • Judging by how well it runs once its got some load on it I'd say these guys know exactly what they're doing.

A couple of things I'm curious about are: -

-what type of transmission do they use, clutch or torque converter?

Do they run a locked differential all the time or keep it open to let them steer with the brakes.

  • Transmission: Clutch housing, transmission case, rear end housing and axle housing must be O.E.M.

They steer the tractor with "wheel brakes" because the front tires is up in the air most of the time.

  • all i can say is you'll never see a deere actin up like that

  • The white smoke is unburned diesel thats why it suddenly ignites in the exhaust. Yes they have water injection but not nearly enough to cause this much smoke.

When they take out these powers from a diesel engine they lower compression as much as possible thats why he is having trouble to get it to run properly, these engine´s will not even start without heating them to working temperature and using ether.

  • I think the same wwaallee1, big injectors that dont spray to well at low flow and low compression, to keep dynamic compression right with massive boost, he was spraying easy start in to get going aswell.

u r correct about exhaust fires aswell.

  • fé le finqué

  • Matti Herlevi with the valtra countdown tractor is European champion 2007 pro stock, and the one we see here Pekka Herlevi with sigma power came second.FINNISH DIESEL POWER!

  • I think I can, I think I can, I think I can..

  • Damn tahts fast !

  • White smoke is burning oil, not fuel and it is a 2 stroke v8 turbo and supercharged diesel. No spark there.

  • What? Engine is a straight 6 cyl and 4 stroke..

  • probably couldn't be a 2stroke. they wont pull much. the white smoke is from the diesel...just means its cold.

  • Almost all semi trucks/large construction vehicle use a 2 stroke diesel, cause they produce huge amounts of torque

  • Not entirely true - yes there are many 2 stroke engines in over the road trucks, but DD's have a narrow torque band - I'd rather pull a hill behind a Caterpillar 3406 550 any day of the week, or a Mack.

  • wow didnt know stupid came in so many ways

  • not sure if it relates to this video but white smoke on a deisel is cold unburnt fuel and obviosly black is warm unburnt

  • The white smoke is probably because of the water injection, but it's rare to see the water injection turned on at idle, usually it's turned on when pushed down the throtle.

  • Do yeah know what your talking about man?

  • i dont think you know what your talking about buddy, if it was burning oil the smoke would be blue. also 2 strokes are barely ever used in semi trucks and construction

  • Gee, that's interesting - I drove for a company who had a fleet of KW W900 Extended hoods with 8V-92TTA Detroit Diesel engines - in case you didn't know - they are 2 stroke diesels. There are many dump trucks that used the DD engine - as well as a few front-end loaders I saw.

Also, railroad engines - EMD (Electro-motive diesel) - division of General Motors - huge 2 stroke diesel engines.

Straighten out your facts - sheesh

  • o yea well maybe that fleet is like that big deal but go look at any other truck out there and its NOT a 2 stroke.. they may have been used in some but theyre not very common is all im saying

  • the white smoke isnt burning oil, the tractors have a waer injection system inside, the white smoke is caused by too much water being injected into the system.

  • i totally agree, it is just like a detroit 2 stroke diesel, awesome motors, but yeah that aint fuel, unless you are running a hydrogen tractor, ahahha

  • white smoke is just unburned fuel they should put in a spark put and the flame would b constant as long as it doing that plus is good for the environment no unburned hydrocarbons

  • not exactly responsive, but sure make some power once there revving

  • this is sure a EURO4 catalyzer

  • bu be admalarda para var oynaycak başka şey bulamıyorlar a.q ben otomotiv mühendisiym hayatımda böyle motor görmedim gemi gibi duman çıkaruyo lambda kaç acaba

  • uhhh, no. that would be dumb. he's actually spraying ether into the air intake to help the engine run until it warms up. jeez.

  • "Pro Stock Tractor Pulling trouble" you sure have some powerful stock tractors over there...

  • they are stock blocks that are used.

  • I thought I was gonna see it blow but it sure did run when the time came!

  • it was worth the warm up wait that was one ell of a pull

  • "sport without any sence...but funny"

?? WTF? the sence is to find out who's tractor can pull the sled the farthest. DUH.

  • 8.4 litre sisu diesel motor ;)

  • And Pekka has a goodlooking and sporty daughter.

  • the Herlevi family are the best pro stock tractorpullers in Europe, the father Pekka is a guru in tuning the sisu engine.

  • Cause it is...

  • What sport has any sense?

Unless it helps develop new technology for the benefit af all (motorsport). Whereas ballsports r only watched by those to lazy to join in, and they encourage violence like Bush.

  • why you say that?

  • sport without any sence...but funny

  • Y duz an entertainment sport need 2 b sensible ??!!

Good way to unwind from crazy modern life !!

  • 6500 rpm from a 8.2 diesel, that's just nuts!

  • that's amazing

  • Impressive dieseltuning; 2.100 hp with only one turbo form a 8.2 litre block.
