@TheAgol07 Well think about it this way. DMC4 got very lackluster reception and because it was such a let down, a sequel wasn't really in the works. Enter Ninja Theory, that had some cool ideas for a reboot/prequel. They kept pretty much everything that made DMC good except for the slower framerate, and the only thing that changed was Dante's design, which shows him as a teenager before the events of most of the DMC series.

@TheAgol07 Sorry man, they're not calling it a reboot anymore. That was a poor choice of words on their part when they unveiled it. It's a retelling, an origin story of Dante in a different universe.
You can either keep feeling insurmountably angry over some wrong you think NT did to the series, or accept the new info they've been telling everyone for a while now, and stop getting your panties in a bunch over a game that has nothing to do with the old series.

For looking at the premise of the game and realizing that since it's so different from the normal formula, that it's not called "Devil May Cry 5," and that the developers even retracted saying it was a reboot to tell people it was in a different universe as a side-story, and wouldn't effect the normal canon?

@TheAgol07 Well we don't really know that it's totally in the dark. Capcom could come back later to make an actual DMC5. It might have been a bad decision, but I think the game looks fun, and something cool is at least coming out of the idea.
Sure it might not be the original DMC-type game, but it still looks like an interesting title for me. To each his own, though.

@TheAgol07 Also, wouldn't it make sense to *not* have a sequel since DMC has a continuity that goes from the center and goes out? The order for continuity is (First) Devil May Cry 3>Devil May Cry 1>Devil May Cry 4>Devil May Cry2 (Latest) So, it would make sense for the next game to happen before Devil May Cry 3.

I'm just scared that they are going to cut out all the things that make the Devil May Cry series so awesome. It was a bad warning sign with Dante smoking [shows a massive personality change which is worrying] I can deal with the new dark hair[they make it look like he's going super saiyan when his hair turns white lol]...but I dunno, so far the trailers make it look like its going to be one of those mind f*** games where he's in an asylum and the demons are all in his head...which just isn't DMC

@trololol011 He's as much a gamer as any real gamer. Games don't have to be serious business in order to be good, and death threats are never excusable. If they don't like it, don't play it. Hell, if DmC fans are gonna act like this, I say they axe the series entirely. If they change Dante back now, it'll only tell the idiots that they were right to threaten them. This is unnecessary, and stupid, and the best thing for Capcom now s to either keep the change, or axe the series.
