  • Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of Ahmedinejad (or however you spell his name,) I think he stole that election and brutally suppressed the opposition.

But you don't undermine this country's diplomatic efforts by rattling sabres that aren't yours to rattle. McCain needs to remember he isn't the president.

  • Spoken like a true neocon. Way to promote an improvement of our status in the world as we try to crawl up from "most hated by just about everybody" status we got under Bush.

That'll help in negotiations...state we are for toppling the Iranian government. Does he not know we are about to sit down with them for TALKS like...imminently?

Or is he just a crass republican hoping those talks will fail, for selfish political gain.

Man, the GOP sucks so bad.

  • Why he's still in the Congress ?

Why we have to advices from some one

who crashed 5 jet fighters !

  • Why is US intefering in other countries affairs?

  • Sanctions, no matter how good the intent, only end up hurting the innocent people of the country.

  • WAR MONGER

  • It would be good to allow free unfiltered satellite based internet and communication services for the Iranians.

Radio Liberty etc is doing a good job in Afghanistan and Iraq but it should be significantly funded and upgraded to allow access be made easier for the Iranians.

My family were largely influenced by "Europa Libera" and were on the streets for the 1989 Timisoara riots. Your best weapon isn't bombs its information.

  • Warmongering IDIOT. It's horrible to think this man was almost president. Look up what Ron Paul had to say about this Iran thing going on right now, there's nothing to worry about. (i know some people think Ron Paul is just nuts, but i promise when it comes to issues you can trust what he has to say, look at his track record)

  • Yeah, you can totally trust what he has to say, as long as you don't actually listen to it.

  • Its not just McCain who is saying this, its millions of Iranian neocon-fascist youth, astro-turfing corporate schills who have been "protesting" in the streets of Tehran for the past few months.

  • Again I ask.

Why the fuck should any of us give a shit about what this guy has to say? I wouldn't trust any kind of decisions to the guy that picked Sarah Palin as a running mate.

  • I guess now we know what nation our next war is going to be against...

  • this man could have been the President, scary

  • The gop is trying to undermine the one thing Obama has demonstratively been doing well at-rebranding the US in the eyes of the world.

    "You could have been president".

Except for the fact that he lost the election.

You don't see fox putting the same questions to Kerry, or Gore or Mondale do you?

    Shameless hypocricy.

  • The USA tried "regime change" in Iran back in the 50's you know, Operation Ajax, look it up.

It is actually kind of scary to be seeing these ideas discussed so openly.

  • I totally agree with him: but its a fine line. Trying to "promote regime change" is a good way to totally kill any diplomatic relations with an entire region if its done poorly, and we don't have a very good record of successful and smooth regime changes.

  • I can't even stand the sound of his voice. He is an opportunist who will say whatever people want to hear. He's two faced and that's why he lost the election. Shut the hell up old man.

  • Exactly, dude is a joke that people could see right through him.

  • This is all the GOP has for foreign policy - Go in and overthrow governments, preferably in resource-rich countries. Imperialism writ large.

  • Remove the morons from power for the love of the planet.

How about regime change in the USA, why can't the US government mind its own business and take care of their taxpayers for once.

  • What about the regime change that's going on in the US ? That should be enough for the US to deal with never mind trying to change the situation in OTHER countries ! These politicians & talking heads make me sick !

Oh yeah !!! Surprise Surprise the WMD rhetoric has started again this time it's Iran that's the threat ... not Iraq or Afghanistan or Pakistan . Or Israel with it's 200 or so Nukes. Nothing to do I suppose with Iran dumping the dollar as Saddam did in 2000???

  • It's senator Wrong McCain

  • US is the last country that should try to get Iranians to do Something against thier country

  • meat puppets

  • Saudis are American friendly. First Afghanistan, then Iraq, now Iran.

Thank god they elected Obama. America under McCain would definately invaded Iran.

  • You my friend are totally out of touch if you for one second think that Obaaaaaaaaama is any different than Bush or Clinton same old Sh*t just a different puppet asshole. Amazing how there has always been a BUsh Or a Clinton somewhere in the Whitehouse for the last 16 or so years. Still troops in Iraq plus more.. Quitmo still open plus Fema camps. . still the same old WMD rhetoric & how everyone else in the world is a threat but those that work for the corperate banking oligarchy & govern you !

  • American Persian war comming soon thanks to Israel

  • so tell me mister mccain....when is burma (mayanmar) getting a regime change that is forced by the US? oh right.... you aren't interested in that back watered country cause they have nothing of interest there

  • Overthrow GOP!

Regime Change their ignorant domestic and foreign policies!

  • Overthrow the regime..... hope we don't get caught in the middle like the last time.

  • now this fucker too...

  • Republicans are idiots.

ESPECIALLY when it comes to the economy and foreign policy.

  • and domestic policy, and just government in general.

  • CIA, Iran and the Election Riots from AntiDefm

    /watch?v=GRwUZ-u6KFo

  • Old man calls Ahmadinejad out to rastle. Wait no what did he say? He want to over throw the Iranian government?

  • The US does not do "non-violent regime change." And no, covert assassination is not non-violent either.

  • 1. Perpetual Wars to steal more OIL under the mask of Regime Change - not to mention Freedom, Democracy and Human Rights.

    2. Perpetual Invasions of foreign countries.

    3. Perpetual Overthrowing of Democratically elected Governments.

    4. Perpetual borrowing of money to wage illegal wars and neglecting domestic priorities such health care, education and investing in the welfare of US citizens.

    5. Perpetual Permanent US Occupation and Nation building of Foreign countries.

  • US (and the rest of the world as a matter of fact) should be promoting the end of war producing industries

  • And the last time we supported regime change in Iran, what happened again? Oh, right.

  • Regime change was the foreign policy, the last Regime in US promoted but was an abject FAILURE.

  • John McCain should promote 'Silence Change' in his mouth.

  • SO glad he wasn't elected.

    John "Guns Blazin" McCain

  • Sure, let's do that, it has always worked every time America imposes a regime change in an unstable nation.

  • I don't understand, snipzor. Wasn't McCain talking about encouraging and empowering the Iranian people to change the regime? What would be wrong with that? It didn't seem like he said or implied anything about "imposing" regime change. I sincerely do not understand your criticism. I consider myself liberal, by the way.

  • Who are we to encourage anyone to change their regime? The people of Iran are not being slaughtered. The people of Iran have shown that they can speak up for themselves. If the US doesn't like who is in charge of another nation, why do we feel we have to get involved. Sometimes we should just suck it up and deal with someone we don't like. How long was Castro in charge of Cuba? Why didn't we push him out? Oh, right... no oil there.

  • I agree w/ some of what you said but your history needs a little work. No other person in history has survived more US assinsation attempts than Castro. We didnt try to push him out? Can you say Bay of Pigs?

  • Not in the same way though... I'm talking about pushing him out in the way we did in Iraq. We may have tried to push Castro a little, but if we REALLY wanted him out that bad it would've happened.

  • Who are "we"? I am the son of Iranian refugees to Canada. My family, friends were persecuted, imprisoned, and killed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard because of their religion.

Who am I? I am a human being, a living witness to the ruthless oppression of my own people by the hands of religious fanatics.

The people of Iran are not being slaughtered?! The people can speak?! Only to lazy, ignorant laissez-faire apologists.

You can suck it up, if you like. I don't like the taste of bile.

  • So as a Canadian, you can sit there and tell me that the US should be doing something in Iran? I personally don't wish to see my best friend shipped back off overseas to fight a war for rich, old white men. You might want us over there because the number of Canadians involved would be ridiculously lower than the number of US soldiers, but I'm tired of seeing my friends play world police. Iranians need help, but not at the cost of more young Americans.

  • luchamini, in my comments above, I clearly stated that I believed McCain was speaking about giving the Iranian people the support they need to change the regime internally. Never, not once, in anything I have written did I anywhere state or imply that I thought the US "shouId be doing something in lran."

Conversation on YouTube is frustrating when people don't pay attention to what is written or said, but invent their own arguments, which they then attack.

  • I understand that you aren't supporting war, but supporting anything out of warmonger McCain's mouth is just that.

  • Supporting anything McCain says is tantamount to supporting war? Did you seriously just suggest that?

  • Mr. War himself
