I have main windows and apps 250gb (been my first sata HDD for over 4 years)

A 750 GB for games and... well games and files for games, mods, Touhou fortress models, you name it. had this HDD for three years

and one 1TB external for... all randomness that is just all sorts of files, all sizes, types - no apps, programs and such. 1 year almost with external...

Then again I have so much junk...

I hate how computer systems have to use some of that space, so you don't actually get all the space you should.

My computers harddrive is 180gigs, but i only get 160 of useable space.

My PS3's harddrive is 60gigs, but i only get 55 of useable space.

Why does it have to be like that, the system should have it's own storage location.

In general though, i guess it's necessary, but the system allocation should already be on your 1st harddrive, why does it only let you use 1.3gigs on your 2nd?

1000MB = 1GB

But PCs read as 1024MB = 1GiB

Confusing, yes. Dishonest, most definitely. This has been going on for a long time but its only recently with TB HDDs etc. being so cheap people have started to notice their space going "missing".
