NBC: The Place to Be in the sliding peacock graphics (KSNF Joplin, MO is known to have used them in a promo dated to 1994!). Soon (as in at least under three weeks!) WTVJ would debut its modified version of those graphics with Watch Our Team Work.
Has Sarah Williams ever been on a horse? She seems like she likes to sit around and yell at the children. Anyone who loves horses usually would rather ride than watch.
@KarasuInugami Actually, I'm pretty sure this aired on Tuesday, September 25, 1990.
This is from the Miami Herald (9/26/1990):
"Metro commissioners agreed Tuesday to spend $16.5 million to build a 7,500-seat tennis stadium on Key Biscayne, a decision four years in the making designed to keep the Lipton International Players Championships in Dade County for the next 30 years."
@KarasuInugami This is from the Sun-Sentinel (9/26/1990):
"Federal authorities are investigating allegations that some Broward Sheriff's Office deputies were involved in the sale and use of drugs, were provided with prostitutes and protected a drug dealer who worked with them."
One of my (lame?) hobbies is trying to attach dates to old news clips like these ... I use the NewsBank database to assist me.
I'm not 100% accurate ... but I'd dare say I'm pretty good at it.
Here's a challenge for NewmanNewsman...Kelly Craig was proposed to on air after a newscast one night around this time, like 1990 or 1991. I don't have the exact date, but if you can find it, it would be cool to see that again. Also, still would like to see some 4 News Now footage or open.
This is from Tuesday, September 25, 1990. WTVJ must have changed its graphics a few days after this aired, because there is a YouTube clip featuring the "Watch our Teamwork" theme from October 13, 1990.
Really? I'm in the process of building the South Florida section of the film and television museum that me and some other people are working on, and this would be a great addition - maybe we can talk about this sometime?
that horse story was a waste of everybodys time.

Bryan Norcross looked just like he did during the "hurricane andrew" Vid. A man truly worthy of being called a top weatherman.

A feeble attempt to copy that "Goodnight Chet, Goodnight someone else" thing. I wish I could remember the other...

Perhaps you're thinking of WSAZ, the actual originator of the idea, and perhaps the only still left.

It was Chet Huntley and David Brinkey who said, "Goodnight Chet, Goodnight, David." The funny thing is they both hated saying that.

According to the Herald archives, Kelly Craig accepted an on-air marriage proposal on Friday, April 2, 1993.
