While I am not against live feeding, do not act like all snakes only eat live food.. My two year old corn strikes just as hard on a f/t'd mouse as yours did on this live one. We are to improve the image of the reptile community, not tarnish it by making our pets look like blood-thirsty killers. Nice video though and a beautiful corn.
@MultiSkyehigh 1. You should thaw the mice before you feed
2. There is no fine in the US for feeding my snake what it would eat in the wild.
3. I understand your concern, but unlike some snakes who are locked in a 10 gal. cage and dont know what side of the mouse is up, Cornelius lives outside, climbs in trees, and is one mean mouse catching machine.
@snortonhorton15 Its between 6 and 8 years old. When it was tiny I kept it in a huge homemade screened in cage (mistake) and it would hide in the base of a potted plant so I couldn’t feed it as much as I wanted. This may have slowed its growth early on, but it is normal sized now. Its right around 4 ft and I cant tell if it is still growing or not because it has been slow and steady growth. I feed it a mouse every 6-7 days in the summer; although it would eat as many as it was given.
@FRdemo9 i have two corns, one albino and one caramel. the one in my videos has sadly passed. my caramel hadnt been eating for about three weeks so i tried live rat pinkies and it worked. he ate that thing up. the caramel is about 18in long. if i feed him 2 rat pinkies a week, how long do u think it will take for him to get to about 3 feet?
@snortonhorton15 ill try to make another video when i get a chance and include some pictures of when it was tiny. Its patterns have changed a lot. I dont know how long it will take to grow. they range between 2 and 6 ft full grown, i would guess 3.5 years to become full grown if kept warm in the winter and well fed. but like i say, mine is at least 6 years old and i think it may still be slowly growing. if you want it to grow fast, give it a warm and cold side to the cage so it can digest
