  • Marvellous many thanks.

  • Many thanks Blatttman. It was fantastic to watch.

I wish our current politicians had even an ounce of the feeling for our country as he did.

  • I remeber the state funeral as if it was yesterday, The whole family were glued to the TV and my mum and dad cried. He is the only decent leader, apart from Mrs Thatcher, we have had.

  • Our heroic figures are so often unappreciated after the times of strife they lead us through.

  • I was a 12-year old American living in Europe at the time, and caught the end of this documentary on the BBC. The shot of the boat carrying Churchill's coffin with people standing at attention on the shore, watching on...something came over me even at that young age, and I started to weep. Even watching it again 15 years later, I still get teary eyed.

  • Martin Gilbert - Israeli propagandist par excellence

  • churchill was a great man rest in peace

  • Hitler was more humane and (a real European unlike) that fat piece of shit Churchill !!

  • Thank you for these video's I have enjoyed watching them all within a day period!

    God bless!

  • May the G A O T U bless my Brother Churchill, see you in the grand lodge above brother xx

  • A dark and dismal life illuminated by a single but blinding flash of light: 1940.

  • ,...depart in peace, ' Sweet Prince ',...

  • Winston Churchill, the greatest of all the Britons.

  • David Cameron has to wear a 1,000 pairs of socks to fill Winston Churhills shoes.

  • @AnthemsToTheWelkin How dare you utter those names in the same sentence? It's like comparing nazis and nuns; it should never happen. You should sit in the corner and think about what you have done.

  • Thanks for posting all of this. It provided just a little more personal detail to bring into closer focus a truly amazing human being. I hadn't heard about his heart attack during the war.

  • The people of Britain should be very proud to possess the intellectual infrastructure called "the class system". We Japanese have lost it or I should say the Americans destroyed it, and we have not got the gut to rebuild it.

Class system is not all about poverty and divisions in society. It is also about producing leaders.

Don't slag off the aristocracies and royals however degenerate and stupid some of them may be. Don't destroy Oxbridge however eccentric and out of touch some dons may be.

  • "I have done my bit, i should be allowed to depart in peace" God bless you now and always, you will never be forgotten, my children have just had the most educational and beautiful day at Chartwell, it is as beautiful now as it ever was, and as a father i thank and salute you for all you did for this nation.

  • A well-done masterpiece story of a great man of his time, maybe for all time!

  • probably the most influential and interesting person of our time the churchill museum in london is spectacular his life shows the good the bad and the ugly and all fits together to form the wonderful character that he was

  • Thank you for posting this amazing biography. I think that Winston Churhill was one of the greatest men of the 20th. century. I'm Canadian, and he was very well thought of here. I went to Winston Churchill elementary school.

  • No man is perfect. How many will live a life that many would admire. There can only be a few and he was one of that few.

  • Thank you so very much for posting this. You dont know how much watching this has meant to me tonight.

  • Who will save our broken britain now?

what mess we are in now

all that our forfathers did for us and we did nothing but let this country turn into a sewer.......so so sad.

  • @FACTUNTHJU "Never, never, never give up." ;)

  • @FACTUNTHJU The best we have today is Nigel Farage!

I think it really says something about Churchill that here on youtube many videos have abuse and arguments but not here. No! Few would and those who dare would probably end up making a new account.

    R.I.P Winston

  • @FACTUNTHJU well you and people who think like you need to get up and save Britain. First get rid of liebralism and then get rid of the immigrants who do not want to assimilate. Winston Churchill must be rolling in his grave at the state the UK has come to. He built it and saved it for the better, but the liberals and politicians are just dragging it into the sewer. So get up and fight instead of posting. Actions speak louder than words. I will be happy if the UK goes back to its old values.

  • @calihartley2010 Define 'old values'.

  • @angrydead You must be stupid not to know what old values are. They are love for ones country, moral values, Christian values, honoring God and country, Supporting all good things which are 100% british. There I can go on forever. I hope you got the picture.

  • @calihartley2010 No, I just like to give fools the rope to hang themselves. You've yet to circle many of these values specifically and the ones you have are not very British, patriotism is hardly a uniquely british concept and Christianity is from the middle east try again.

  • @angrydead More like you are looking for rope to hang from. Not me. You are right about Christianity coming from the middle east, but it was very dominant in Europe and the UK at one point. Patriotism is universal, but it is also unique to a country. So go preach your foolishness elsewhere.

  • @FACTUNTHJU : Ô England, past beauty and deep green hills, Combes and hedges, from the beaches to the feilds Crumpets and butter, tea'd down December nights Amidst family warmth and fireplace lights England, how i miss your soul's delight Land she once was, but where now we must fight The enemies within, wherever they may blight In the shadows of Churchill's darkest night Old England...the old, the never ending memory Fluffy clouds, blue skies Pastures bright and free.
  • @FACTUNTHJU Don't despair, Britain and America are always just one leader away from going back down the right path.

Before you know it, there will be another FDR and Churchill; or another Reagan and Thatcher that will change the world.

Just one leader away - don't forget that!

  • its incredible that so few people have watched this

  • It's not incredible to me memva, in this day and age ppl care nothing for true heroes or great character. obviously thats apparent when you look at the political leaders of today, ppl want to prop up ppl that are bascially popular criminals with no honor or dignity. kind of like Obama.

  • i dont think people have the rpportunity to care for these things. education is one more tool created in illustration with social but moreso political objectives. if education and media (one of the same) are put in the hands of a few corrupt people... most dont even get the chance to care for values and selflessness

    memva

  • Quite right , in the UK footballers are todays heroes, in America I suppose it is basketball players. I hate the celebrity culture , most of them cannot even speak properly , their statements are cliches and "you knows".

The Beatles sang "What the world needs now is love sweet love", I fear what it really needs is a leader with Chuchillian qualities.

  • you're wrong Obama is trying to improve the U.S but the country is simply showing its stubborn qualities again like they always do its going to take a healthcare Pearl Harbour for change to finally come

  • AMEN.

  • 43 years since the 'Old Man's' death and I cried like a baby. Thanks for sharing this

  • I know how you feel, it still gets me every time i watch this part. The following was said by Patton for those killed in combat, but i feel it is still appropriate."It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived."

  • @zaygezunt : I left England i was 10, never to return. This documentary reminds my sentiments, and revives the truth of what i am : an englishman !

  • @zaygezunt The world should never again see a man of fortitude, brilliance, deliverance, bravery, tenacity, eloquence in the face of war. What would the world be like in 1940 without Winston Churchill. He was destiny.
