@ZLIgari il2 1946 is more realistic but with some old graphics... wings of prey is an atomic bomb for the graphics, but I think the campaigns and the flight controls are too arcade even in sim mod...

fun game anyway. kind of confused with the mig in here, i mean it sort of was a total copy of german fighter design unless this is staged where the germans have pulled back to the mountains to do geurilla warfare, then it would make sense. Is that whats happening? Yak3's nothin special. Itd been in the skies since like 1943 or somethin,=. German fighters were actuallly told to run away from any Yak fighters without the under-nose coolant system. it shouldnt be new

the one problem i have with games like this is game knoledgewhile I spend alot of time learning about these fighters, some 8 year old who plays too many video games learnes loads of em. Its really kind of annoying that. I mean no offense to older players im cool with them, they dont act like they suddenly know everything about fighters and I can respect them. But the younger ones, its like an 8 year old with a 500 dollar airsoft gun. You guys know what im sayin?

The first jet mig (mig-17) was designed by a german who developed it while beeing in Argentina after WWII. look for the "Pulqui I and II" you'll see. All Jet planes where german design at the begining.

OK, but TSAGI's design of MiG-15 is based on captured plans of Ta-183. Same thing is for example French Dassault Ouragan or US F-84 Thunderstreak. All of them has same features as Ta-183

Yeah, it's pretty hard to aim though, pushing forwards on the stick makes the sight go up which always throws me...

Thats intentional and supposed to reflect the general unreliability of early jet engines. Remember that these were a very new technology back then and therefore had lots of issues to cope with. They had slow acceleration, relatively low thrust, were prone to backfire or light on fire when maltreated, etc.

Many expert pilots lost their lives flying these early jets, not only Germans but also British and American. For example Richard Bong (US top ace) lost his life in a P-80 due to engine trouble

Its about $40, 1946 was created not long ago (1.5~ 2 years I think). But the original IL2 way older than this. It is the most popular WWII flight simulator. There are tons of servers with a lot of players active day and night, and it is sold in Canada in a EBGames near your :). Oh, and is awesome with the TrackIR.

I know I had the same problem, you need to install all the updates. Then go in megagames or whatever, and install the no cd crack. And then it will run. I am not supposed to tell you that, but since they don't fix the problem, its the only solution ;)

In truth, all sides of the front had jets, butsome of the axis weapons shown here were the "odd ends out" of world-war two. Russia produced the yak-12 fighter, it only shot down about five aircraft during the course of the war. The americans had the vampire, the british the Meteor, the germans the Komet, the me262, the Japanise even had the kikka!
