  • New Order would be my favorite band of all time. Second would be a tie between Depeche Mode, The Cure, Echo and the Bunnymen and the Clash.

Best ever lesser known bands would be Kon Kan and the Photos.

  • As a child of the 70's and hence, the music of the 80's, I'm shocked this song doesn't have more views. Les Américains sont incroyablement très stupids. Yes, a bilingual American!

  • I'm old school--Genesis, Yes, Moody Blues, etc., but I sure count New Order as some of the best music I've heard in my life. (Not to mention Joy Division and Bad Lieutenant).

  • pretty in pink

  • I can distinctly remember the first time I heard this song - on a coach on a school trip to Scotland in '87. Still sounds as fresh as ever.

  • sorry caps

  • I KNOW

  • 1987: I was 23. Had a great job, a 401k, money to burn, '87 Pontiac for a company car that I put a tape player in. I was blasting this tune in some hotel parking lot late at night. Life was good. I was going places.

All that is gone now, except I still have tunes like Shellshock.

  • @jctoad Lol

  • @jctoad You still got the spirit man!

  • HailSagan$Realz I saw them live in Toronto. Amazing. I'm 40 and my 11 year old listens to New Order now. 1 of the best ever!!

  • The deeper you get, the sweeter the pain.

  • 41 and still rockin' NO like it's the 80's!!

  • I'm 41. And I've finally realized this band is the greatest ever. No one else from any other decade holds a candle to them. Long Live NO.

  • I have this on vinyl, it sounds... orgasmic

  • Great Song -- The 80's were the Best!!

  • This takes me back to 1987 listening to this song.

  • I KNOW!

  • They were terrible in concert. But, nobody cared. Everyone was dancing anyway, the music was that GREAT!

  • They were SHIT live. Everyone knew this and Bernard even got pissed at one interviewer about 'Why does everyone have to bring that up?" Hahaha. Seriously, listen to some of their live albums (if you can find them) it's embarrassing.

  • This the one sick boop dp hggzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  • They were much better live than on record. YES, I have their RECORDS.

  • Genius, beautiful and full of quality melodys, sounds, guitars, arpeggios and seriously wicked drum programming!! love it

  • This song gives me chills!!!! Oh how much i miss those good old 80's days from 83 to 89 wow.....thanks for posting this ;).......

  • wawawa

  • Its a kind of mini-synthesizer-opera they wrote hier, according to "Geisha boys and temple girls" by Heaven17.

Nevertheless one of the best songs NO ever did.

  • ITS NEVER ENOUGH UNTILL YOU HEART STOPS BEATING

  • I'm only 17 years old and I love this song so much

  • My all-time favourite New Order song! Used to crank this on my tape deck in my Ford Cortina!

  • @sherlock747 yes I used to have a Ford Cortina (mark 5) aswell, in the late 80's and used to play a New Order tape all the time at full blast with my mates, they loved this music too. It's my 46th birthday today but I still fondly remember those days when music was music!

  • @HatfulofHollow65 Happy birthday. I'll be 47 in two months time. Yes, the 80s was full of great music. One of the things I love about youtube is being able to relive all those times!!

  • @HatfulofHollow65

46 too and I had a Mark V and the New Order tapes!

  • R.I.P to my friend who overdosed on heroin...a few days after we discussed this song.

  • 44 years old and it only gets better!!! I feel 25...hapiness is what you make of it. "Don't give up the game until your heart stops beating."

  • 0:44 looks like Liza Minelli or Joyce DeWitt, agree?

  • you gotta play this motherfucker as loud as you can without killing somebody!!

  • Their*

  • great song,,,, new order is and wil be the best band in the world

plus# they inspired THE KILLERS the second best band in the world inspire to name the band after a fictious band in the video CRYSTAL

  • Adoro essa música! Mais um dos inúmeros ícone do IMPÉRIO ANOS 80!

  • First tape I ever bought with my own paper route money... ♪♫

  • heyyyy biiiiig maaaan.............

  • An exquisite dance track. Just perfect. I remember the scene in "Pretty in Pink" when it came on, and for some reason I remember it really adding to the intimidation and pathos of the high school dance scene.

  • greatest band ever [2]

  • New Order forever

  • Thanks!

  • this video captures the history and rise as well as staple of what is FOREVER the great one... New Order and memory of Joy Division. Long Live!

  • You can't stop yourself from dancing to this song the beats flow through your whole body...It's a classic and just too great!

  • One of THE BEST dance tunes EVER. Period. Boo-yah boeyyyyyyyee!

btw, I wish New Order would produce more of this...don't get me wrong I love their other material as well. But this paticular song really is one of my favourite songs. iMo, they're the premier quintessential dance band of the 80s. Love'em!

  • I'm sure someone has said this in the past comments, but, how can you beat that intro? Can't.

  • This is the bee's knees!!!! superb video and song..perfect combination, synthesisers and smashing british accent!!!

  • Great sound made by synthesizers (electronic drums) at 1:14-1:49

  • they used a yamaha qx1 sequencer, voyetra 8 synthesizers, emulator2, yamaha drum machine, and talent.

  • Good photos - thanks!!

  • It's an absolute classic!

  • オリジナルのshellshockはイントロがCoolです!!

  • SHELLSHOCK!!!!!!!!!

    buenos recuerdos, mejores momentos.

  • this was the rare mix.....nice work!! Man what memories.

  • Not a mix? It's the original.

  • aso-thx for your response but look at the album above the the senders comments...the original was in "pretty in pink" Anybody I collected one here in the states from England "PEEL SESSIONS" what was-is that?

  • 0:57, i can see a series land rover in the back ground!

  • anyone know the meaning of this song?

  • I loveee this song!

    ^_^

  • this is the shit my friends, vanishing point is great too

  • Hell yeah

  • Does anyone know what synthesizer these guys used on this track? I have an odd feeling it's a Yamaha DX7, but there is no record of New Order ever playing one. So what synths are they using?

  • dont know, but once i read something talking about a yamaha and No, model or song i dont remember...

  • this song makes me want to go out clubbing and have a drink and a laugh. have a dance chase the ladies and live it up. i love this song

  • I've been good, I've been bad, but common sense i've never had......priceless......long live the 80's.....although now I think us 37-44 year olds now have a LITTLE common sense!...LOL

  • @milkingtherod ah, so true, so true.

  • @milkingtherod I'd like to think so, but the jury is still out. LOL

  • @milkingtherod says who? *winkgrin*

  • @milkingtherod 46 now touching 47 and stil no sense...LOL

  • @DeMachman 47, 48 in Feb, likewise pal!! ;)

  • @milkingtherod 'it never enough until ur heart stops beating'

  • @milkingtherod the trick is keeping a sane balance between good, bad, and common sense!!

  • Shellshock! Read the history. why they became New Order is a name in its-self. "Control" was the start. I love history,,,fighting for the truth is always best. New Order refined their music...they never sold out... hear the the cut that is undergroumd.

  • fucking great !

  • thanks for posting this I love this song reminds me of my crazy adolecent days lol

  • Can still remember when the UST Salinggawi danced this during the DANSCENE 88!!! Love the steps!!! Miss those days...
