Fayetteville is my home. I remember shopping downtown at Sears, Belks, The Capitol, when the mall was still farm land. I remember when Hay Street was the red light district and it was one bar after another but look at it now. Fayetteville is not perfect but it's rich in history. You just have to know where to look. Like any other town, in the name of progress, doesn't always mean good. I wish everything was still downtown and traffic wasn't such a mess but here we all are.

Fayetteville is not imune to drugs just like every other community. Having said that the bad rap of a past Fayetteville is diminishing as the downtown in rejuvinated and a great place to hang out. I've lived here since 1992 and have never had a bad experience. I love this area!
