Russia uses AK-74 since 1980's, and now uses modernised variants, new rifles and a lot of genius weapons for special forces, i don't see any better thing in USA with the 30 YO M16a2 and crappy M4.

That fuel is intended for road marches and deep strikes. In combat areas those tanks are empty or filled with sand which actually give good protection against heavy MG fire. Of course, BMP isnt a tank. Tanks do not carry infantry around.

Tanks duke it out with enemy tanks, fuck shit up and exploit breaches in enemy lines.

Thats not really the problem. The soviets expected manuever warfare with NATO in europe so they banked on light, fast, cheap and above all amphibious IFV's. They gave decent protection from the front but insufficient on the sides. There have been reports that even 7.62ap can piece some parts of the side armor not to mention the rear. Thats soviet doctrine though, fast, cheap and plentiful and we don't care if you die ;)

yeah except they don't have to load the thing with ammo for the cannon if they don't want to. They still have the 30mm left for offense. I agree though, that its a stupid design. What happened to KISS? No need to load a IFV with a bomb in the form of 90mm ammo. Better put that cost and weight into crew protection from 30mm plus from the front and some sort of reactive armor/stand off cages

"Best" is a hard term. It is, however, the only amphibious vehicle of its class, and much faster than its western counterparts. Of course, as this video demonstrates, it is not without it's faults.

u.s troop carrier was only met to protect it's self,in there sceem of thing they need some thing fast and was able to carrie more than the bmp,it will with a duo rockets can protect it's self from a main tank,when u travel as far as u.s army does they can't have a weapon that does everthing they have it got the room. but i wish they make a copy or better one!

@vollirik You know where the gas tanks are on a BMP? Between the passengers and safety. Good luck if you get hit in the rear. I've been in both Soviet designed vehicles and American designed vehicles. I choose American.

@vollirik No it isn't and you know it bub! First the BMP1 is inferior to the M2A2 Bradley IFV! The BMP-2 has only one that that is slightly better then the Bradley..... a 30mm gun! But that is it.... it still has design flaws where a 50 cal round can damage the sides and the rear of both BMP 1 & 2! And did you bother to tell your buddies that those two budging doors in the back are NOT Armor Plated but two diesel fuel tanks! Nasty place to get Hit!

It is said on the field of battle a infantryman is a 0 and a tank is a 1. Put them together and you get a 10.

People just used the vehicles wrong in that game. The massive explosions of tanks also contributed to the fact.
