already in the 2nd WW there was the tactical use of great smoke clouds to hide damaged ships so it can escape. tihs is the latest version of carmouflaging clouds. in 1941 they used burning petroleum today flashbangs with white smoke!

Under "Rheinmetall MASS" you can find some videos which show the state-of-the-art camouflaging of big ships.
Besides visible "white smoke", the MASS payloads (MASS OMNI TRAP ammo.) include Infared, Radar, mmw and Laser-effective components.
