  • Is Novilliheiro that appears in this film the Lusitano Novilleiheiro, like the most famous Lusitano horse in history? Did you had him?

  • Yes, my husband "J.P." bought Novilheiro as a 3 year old and trained him and kept him with him while traveling in Portugal, Spain and England - where he reached the Grand Prix level as a dressage horse before becoming an Intermediate Event Horse with JP's student Rachel Bayliss, and...

  • ... later he became an International Show Jumper in the hands of John Whitaker...after he retired Novilheiro, J.P. sold him to his old friend Arsenio Cordeiro (author of "Lusitano Son of the Wind") in Portugal where he finished his life living in a herd of mares until his death in 2000 at 30 years old.

  • I must say you are a amazing trainer, your horses are some of the best i have seen!

  • Lusitanos are the best because they're portuguese (L)

  • amazing! You train a Quarter Horse the Passage and Piaffe! You are an incredible trainer!!

  • Hi Shelly, I watched JP videos with admiration, he is a master of the trade. I have a question for you, where ca I buy he endo-stick from,

  • Hello Mr. Giacomini! Have you trained any Azteca horses?, thank you!

  • GREAT!! That's all I can say!

But what's the difference between Terre-a-terre and levade? I didn't catch that

  • beautiful horses and video

  • Awesome! You're more than welcome!

  • Alright, I feel like an idiot, but I don't really know the difference between a piaffe and a passage. They look the same to me..... anyone want to help explain?

  • No, no, no - You are NOT an idiot...you just need to learn.

    Piaffe means trotting in place...and

Passage means a slow elevated trot...

Look again and let me know if you get it?

    Shelley

  • Okay, I see it now. They are similar, I guess I just didn't see where to draw the line. Thanks a ton!

  • I feel if the horses were alowed to be more "open" in front they would be capable of "sitting" on their haunches more and creating a real masterpiece!
