  • Got these pants in TDU Green and Coyote and i love them. I love how the mag/cellphone pocket is on the left. Great for right handed shooters who use thigh hoslters. Great review

  • Have you found out what the strap is really for yet? I'm really curious myself.

  • @jmgrant2468 It is weird but you can attach almost anything. I sometimes clip on a whistle, a flashlight. It's up to your imagination.

  • Great review cool pants.

  • That looks like a Mossy 500 am I correct?

  • @EvanN108 590

  • @Kylef7735 ahh probably, they do look similar I couldn't see the bayonet lug since he didn't show the muzzle.

  • @EvanN108 Yea i believe they are entirely identical except for how the barrel attaches, the 590 has a ring that goes around the mag tube, while the 500 has like a bar that locks on.

    practically the same, haha

  • worth every penny. thanks as always

  • Bought under your recommendation, arrived today........just ordered a second pair, worth every penny!!! Fantastic fitting, great quality, the 5.11 push pack landed with them also, great little man bag for all the junk I have to carry, they just became my favourite brand. Thanks for the heads up!!!!

  • Thanks for all your reviews NutN, bought a pair of these based on your review and others for general use practical / travel pants and for this purpose they're great. Just tougher and more durable/ reliable than ordinary brands and they dry pretty fast when hung to air dry. Also have the 511 TDU belt which is brilliant. Best wishes for 2012!

  • I have a multicam parka jacket, do you think people will think I am a survivalist if I wear it?

  • @Maximalnoob I think %90 of the people out there dont care, %5 with think your military, 3% will be offended by such scarry clothing and %2 will even know what the pattern is.

  • Why do you have such a cool voice?

  • I have some similar 5.11 pants (forgot the model) and they are great! ..for the most part. They are pretty comfortable, good range of motion, etc. But I have a problem with the elastic waistband. Good idea, but in my experience the elastic is too strong, and it makes the waistline very tight and uncomfortable. Also some of the velcro closures are scratchy and irritating.

The back loop was designed for rock climbers to attach carabiners to if I'm not mistaken.

  • Looks like a McHenry & Williams Benchmade Axis lock with some sort of Coyote brown duracoat.

  • Hey.. I love this video thank you very much!

  • @nutnfancy what kind of tan knife is that in your pocket at 00:40???

  • hey nutnfancy/crew, I've been rockin these 5.11's for years now and they served me extremely well ( I believe the strap on the back is to secure weapon holsters btw). Until I stumbled upon my new go to pants the "BlackHawk Lightweight Tactical Pants". I know your busy with all your online work/bill paying work, but I would really like it if you gave these pants a try. I wanted to try and help give you some info on great gear as you did for me. Hope it helps, -Watch ur 6'. fellow sheepdog-Army MP

  • I bought a pair a month ago and I LOVE them.. they are so comfortable.. I've day hiked in them without any problems. I am so getting a few more pairs.

  • I actually only where these pants everyday. I have about 8-10 pairs and one pair of shorts. They are great and will last forever. They make good gifts too!

  • I love everything about these pants....except for the cut. they are WAY too baggy

  • quik question, how do these differ from te tactical pant offered by 5.11? I mean from what I have read in thier website is that the taclite is of course lighter but the tactical seems to have more reinforcement and made more durable. The have double reinforced bottom and knees plus 48 bartacks in high stressed areas. is this the same for the taclite?

  • the canvas handle on the back pocked is used as a drag handle along with the drag handle on the back of a tac vest , to pull someone out if they are hurt.

  • it looks really cool, but I for one self open carry for some times, and I like using a drop leg holster, do you know how this pants feel with a thigh rig?

    Thanks,

    A BIG FAN OF TNP!

  • you can roll up pants into shorts, you cant do the opposite with shorts. pants 1 shorts 0

  • 5.11 started off making climbing gear. The number 5.11 is actually a reference to rock climbing , in that they rate the difficulty of the climbs on a numeric scale. The pants were originally designed to give climbers freedom of movement. The loop above the right rear pocket was in the original 5.11 pants as a place to clip your caribiners while climbing. Yes, all of you tactical guys... 5.11 was started by a bunch of dirty climbing bums. As a former rock climber, I love the pants!

  • the pants also not only scream survivalost in civilian areas, they also can scream "wannabe"

  • @NJMevec2 Evidently you've never seen a pair. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy I was not talking about the tacLites. I'm gonna pick up 4 pairs. I was talking about the first three because I wore a pair once in public and got a couple comments. The actual army pants. They were my uncles and he gave them to me for when I go camping and whatnot.

  • @nutnfancy what kind of tan knife is that man??

  • way to late but i have the 5.11 cotton canvas for work at my Fire dept and that strap on the back right pocket is for radio retention with the deep pocket.

  • Cont*

I shredded a couple pockets too.

Since you have the prepper market in your hands and have some influence, do you think you could convince 5.11 to offer their pants in some camo patterns?

I'm sure there would be a market for them.

  • @Wabaanimkii Send them an email.

  • Dear Nutnfancy: Thanks to you, I bought two pairs of these pants. Unfortunately, I got the wrong ones and they did not have a knife pocket.

I just ordered another pair along with some professional looking 5.11 pants that I can wear to work and not get hassled about.

The color on the black pants fade pretty fast and mine are almost grey, although because they are my only good work pants I probably wore them more than I should have. I will buy some dye for them later.

    I shredded a couple po

  • Nutnfancy, you didn't make the whip noise!

  • Holy crap: 25 minutes on a pair of pants! At least it will stop non-preppers from showing up at your house when TSHTF.... 'cuz it'll be sooo boring.

  • I also have the 5.11 knee inserts which stick out a bit but work well as they always make knee bone contact everytime you kneel. thumbs up to these pants

  • I have several Taclite pro's and they are my favorite - wear 'em all the time, one downside - you can sometimes look like 'jonny tactical' but...other than that, in my opinion the best overall. I dont have the standard 5.11 tact pants so I plan to get a pair. I think they'll be better for the winter as the taclite seem to be for warmer weather.

  • I've torn the back of my first pair when i was hiking but could have be worn or maybe cut from the rock i sat down on, not sure. Thou i'm just going to stitch them up nicely and still use them, because they are rather comfortable pant. But i want the exact form just water resistant to a good degree then they would be perfect.

  • In all seriousness, what underwear do you use? Mine always ride up, and aren't breathable. Anyone, recommend me a good brand of underwear.

  • Watching your review convinced me. I bougth a pair of 5.11 TacLite Pro pants. I love 'em!

  • 5 11's website video for these pants says that mystery loop is for stabilizing a hip mounted holster

  • What you are considering a knife pocket I wouldn't use it as one, if I am around town going into stores, I don't want to advertise that I have a knife on me, which is what would happen if I used that pocket for one of my knives. Yes I could slip it down without a clip, but then there is the worry of it falling out (or even potential pick-pocket loss).

This is generally why I prefer jeans, everything clipped on my pockets is obscured under my shirt/coat/sweatshirt etc and rides high.

  • Their HRT Swat pant is awesome, catalog number 47001. Rubber outer grip on the knees, kevlar fabric in the crotch. I don't think they make it anymore though.

  • Outstanding video. I am a private contractor and am currently using the 5.11 Tac lite pant. In dark blue. Very comfortable. I also noticed that you touched on pricing down here I have been unable to locate any for under $50 but it is what it is. Great Pant.

    Thanks.

  • I just ordered a pair, but good Lord, they cost me $100 with shipping to go to Canada! These better be worth it.

  • OUCH! Just checked amazon to find that the pants are $49 without the belt, and like $15 to ship (shipping is free on sizes that amazon stocks). I'll stick to stuffing the pockets in my jeans!

  • hey nutnfancy, I actually think the "Knife" pocket is for a tactical light, maybe??? great videos, I love all your reviews, but they named it the taclight pant for a reason I'd say

  • "Looking like a squirrel coming back from the field" haha made me laugh

  • @RemoBlockade117 Are you one of those kind of people who calls anyone who doesn't agree with you a liar? These pants are great. My husband and brother both have them and neither one has experienced a butt blowout like you described...THREE TIMES. You had problems with the first two pair so you went and bought another...frankly, that sounds like a load. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • I'm a boyscout and they tell us not to wear cotton especially in snow

  • the painters loop is designed as a drag handle to pull a fellow LEO or person out of harms way in dangerous situations. A while back 5.11 was specifying that in the pants description.

  • Comment removed

  • I own 6 pairs of tac light pro's and I LOVE them. I like them better than the blackhawk version.

  • How wide are the belt loops? I'm debating getting a pair and want to size a holster and gun belt to it. Thanks!

  • If anyone wants the Taclite pro pants, go to ombexpress(DOT)com, the 5.11 Taclite pro pants are only $40 instead of $55 on 5.11's website. I don't know if that's the best price out there but it's the best price I can find from a place that has the majority of a company's product.

  • I use the painter's loop above the right rear pocket to keep my 4 cell maglite from flopping around.

Stick it in the rear pocket, through the loop, and it holds it close.

  • I like the look of these pants but, as a lefty, that knife pocket is useless to me. I wish the offered it on both sides for lefties...Oh well, it's a right handed world i guess. I may still get one of these. thanks for the review Nutn.

  • @AirForceAce3571 im a lefty to, but come on really. you cant use things with your right hand? your not writing or firing your gun or anything. just pulling something out of your pocket

  • @joeratti I CAN use my right hand, but I'd rather use my left. Also, in my EDC system my blade flexes into both my EDC and defensive knife and if, God forbid, I have to draw it for defensive use, I want the knife in my strong hand. My muscle memory is to reach for my knife with my left hand so I want to keep it that way. It's not a dealbreaker for me on these pants, I'll just put the blade in the slant pocket. I was just pointing out an improvement I thought could be made. YMMV.

  • darn, mine dont have the dedicated knife pocket :( got the other tac pants awesome quality though :D

  • These pants are great! Just got another pair and love them! I wear them with an under armour polo and a tactical belt and it looks professional and im ready for every occasion! Thanks Nutn! Keep up the great work and im proud to say I am a TNP'R!!!!!!!!!!!

  • well my billfold got up, got on the compy and ordered some of these pants while i was asleep. damn it and such lol. hell i watched the true spec revue and this one so i got this one. the key points to me were the spandex portion in the hips, the knife and slant pockets along with the crotch gusseting. good stuff this revue

  • i got a pair of these after seeing this video and i am sooo happy i did. thanks for the recommendation.

the phone pocket is awesome because it is added on the exterior so if you sit down it doesnt dig into your leg.

the cargo pockets are quite thin which makes it more descreet than some other bulkier cargopants.

    fantastic stuff

  • Got mine today and omg they feel so good, and fit better then any pair of pant i've bought in a long time.

  • The North Face makes a good %100 nylon pant that's super comfy and gives plenty of carry options. Might be better suited for hiking though, as they are ultralight and moisture wicking.

  • but i am a survivalist lol

  • I really wish I could find these exact same pants only without the cargo pockets so I could wear them at work. :(

  • Can't you use the tactical strap for pulling a wounded buddy?

  • What color is it? Can you edit your description and say what color it is?

  • There's a sale going on at Optics Planet on Blackhawk Lightweight Tactical Pants for $20 instead of the usual $46.99 in certain sizes. I think it's a pretty good deal, it's just that they don't have my size.

  • I run MARPAT

  • outstanding, top notch review. many thanks man!!! 5.11 should be giving you free @#$% for life.

  • Do they still make these BDU Pants?

  • I usually get 5.11 stuff but my local tactical store is no longer selling them. Have you had any experience with Propper products?

  • Also what gel knee pads fit in the pockets was hoping the Alta Tactical would but sadly they don't.

  • Pants are great but as usual not good enough crotch seam (for whatever reason i'm tough on my crotch seam no pun or joke intended). They held up well to about 2 weeks of work but as usual I bent and busted them spent like 20 minutes doing a high quality stitch and we will see how long that lasts (expecting awhile not bragging about my stitching just that I stitch squares with diagonal lines through it).

  • The gusseted crotch reminds me of an advertisement that used to be in martial arts magazines back in the 80's (I'm getting old...) for jeans that had a hidden gusseted crotch. Their selling point was awesome - a picture of Chuck Norris wearing them while executing a high kick. Yep, the gusset is there to allow you to kick some sucka in the face.

  • Why don't they make tactical pant with 100% Polyester ripstop?

  • are they made in the usa?

  • Hey NUTN not sure if this has been answered or not but that loop that you were unsure of, its to create a handle for pulling someone up, say if you were trying to drag someone from out the water, from a ledge, cliff...etc.

  • ACU is not the pattern but stands for Army Combat Uniform. The Pattern is called something else!

  • a bunch of us started using these for daily on duty uniform and we work around greasy dusty dirty commercial vehicles. nutn is right they last and dont fade or shrink and we use the matching shirt. one guy mistakenly washed them with detergent bleach and they didnt fade (ours are dark navy) but his patches faded enough that he had to replace those. here in the desert southwest they are great for 100 plus degree weather. the shirt has a capped back which helps vent sweat and heat. wearing body

  • Nutnfancy....Thanks for continuing to plug the LL Bean Timberledge pants. Based on your recommendation I bought 2 pair sight unseen. The originals are nice, but the new Guide version is an awesome mid/heavyweight version for colder weather.

  • Hey nutnfancy you said cotton is not a good outdoor fabric. Well what about carhartt stuff, that stuff rocks in the woods

  • that loop is most likely for hooking on climbing gear ei Carabiners and rappel devices.

  • he nutn i was wondering is the 511 pant tight fitting or r they loose or what im asking because the only way i can get them is online so i want to know what size i would need or if id have to go bigger or smaller thank u and great reveiw keep up the good work

  • these 5.11 dorks aren't making it easy to get TACLITE'S here in AUSTRALIA. $us85 from the scabby profiteers at LE-GEAR,but 5.11 will send 'em for 50 bucks to New Zealand. Serriously, anyone know why they obviously HATE AUSTRALIANS?

Sorry to but i'm just sick and tired of the shitty asian made cloths and slave-goods that saturate Australias domestic consumer market. I feel like a soviet saying NO to Bulgarian blue-jeans.

  • • Lightweight 65% polyester and 35% poly cotton ripstop • Magazine/cell phone pocket • Two cargo pockets • Patented slash rear pockets • Treated with HT Teflon® wear resistant finish • External knife pocket • Rear web strap • YKK® zippers • Prym® snaps • Clip loop • Perfect for the Outdoors. Including Hunting and Hiking That's why there good.
  • You know it's going to be a thorough review when the item doesn't even get mentioned until about 9:00 minutes in ;)

  • That D-ring will be perfect for my Leatherman Style CS. Right now I clip it on a belt loop, but this will be even better.

  • The "painter's loop" is used for carabiners. The pant was originally used for hikers.

  • Watched the whole vid. Super detailed.

The shorts with cell pocket look "function first".

And I like how you realize the absurdity yet functionality of reviewing "PANTS". Lol.

  • 23:41 lol, how did that spyderco get there!? hahaha!

  • Hi Nutn, how is the weight of the pant, comparing to a pair of jeans? Would you recommend it for hot humid regions?

  • LOL - as many times I have watched the review videos .. I just now realized how muc hI enjoy the beginning of the video, the peaceful scenic views. I gues I was never in the mood to pay attention. THANKS MAN!

Once again, another layer to your already dynamic videos. ROCK ON BROTHA!

  • The cotton loop on the right side is to secure a holster. nice video nutn

  • I talked to someone who worke

  • Totally agree about the squirrel argument when going with plain jeans. :) Only a few pockets and mostly too small, so often trying to cramp the simple necessities like wallet, cellphone and a knife/penlight end up looking more revealing than tactical/survivalist pants. Plus if jeans get whet, they also stay wet. ;) For many of us in many situations camo pants are simply a no-go, but the 5.11 TacLites are so inconspicuous, you can where them almost everywhere. Thanks for the vid!

  • Apparently 5.11 started out as company for climbing and outdoor gear. 5.11 is actually a degree of difficulty on a scale for climbing. The "painter's loop" was originally designed for climbers to be able to clip on and off carabiners etc. easily

  • Anyone know what kind of Motorola radio that is? And is it available for civilian use/purchase?

  • As always a great review! I am checking for first class items for my upcoming edc section in my shop - you are an awsome insperation! Thanks for everything and greets from Israel.

  • hey nutn i saw u have aquirred a new phone how about an edc update

  • For all you Catholics out there, if you go on pilgrimages to Medjugorje, you'll be kneeling on marble floors for long periods during daily Mass. The knee pads on the inside will be key.

  • @pete5668 i dont know if ur being smart or a dick ? but either way thats fucked up man and catholics dont go to these places we go to church

  • @6packbrad Have you been to Medjugorje? The church there is often so packed that you won't be able to get a seat in a pew with a kneeler, so as a result you will be kneeling on a marble floor.

  • I use the 'painters loop' for a variety of things, but mostly to hang light stuff (ie keys, small clipboard with attached carabiner).

  • Great pants Brother~ You sold me one these and I have not been disappointed. But you always know your stuff! Sootch00

  • Lets see here, after watching this very well made 25 minute video, I'm now searching the net for 511 TacLite Pro Pants, Alta knee pads, a Cold Steel "pocket bushmen" knife and Oh ya, and a TDU belt, if it's not included with the pants, of course ..Holly Batman, Nut'n, you sure are hard on the old bank account! LOL. (The wife now knows when she hears your voice..I will be spending money soon!)

..Any way, I know it's an older vid, but thank you for making it...I'm off shopping.

  • Why not replace the cotton in the blended fabrics with wool? Breathable, durable, repels water and it won't melt like nylon.

  • im an emt and the extra large belt loops fit great for the big ass belt we where great pants. what is the first knife shown?

  • im an emt and the extra large belt loops fit great for the big ass belt we where great pants. what kind of knife is that??

  • im an emt and the extra large belt loops fit great for the big ass belt we where great pants

  • @nutnfancy

The utility strap over the back pocket is a relict from times the 5.11 pants were made for climbers. So they could easily hook in their chalk-bags - as far as I know.

  • Hey, did nutnfancy finally upgrade his big 'ol phone? ;-)

  • I totally know what he means by pocket wear haha... My Benchmade Griptilian eats jeans haha... I need some 5.11's, very soon :)

  • love this pant! got my own pair and I love them. I could not find a better pant online! if someone knows of one let me know

  • I use the "painter strap" to hang my VHF radio on. I wear these daily working as a paramedic. I find the strap allows the radio to move with getting in and out of the vehicle.

  • At uscav they sell a federal BDU, they come in solid colors such as navy, black, grey, OD these are a little more discrete, but still have great utility.

  • whats the difference between the Taclite TDU and Taclite Pro

  • Ordering 4 pairs on Monday, three taclites abd one of their duty pants for my job. Duty will be black and I shall get OD,CB an black for the taclites. I'll need to order one size up as I an still growing and because of my area people will know something is up if I start wearing pants that have a proper fit

  • i do have a pet peeve about the tac lite pro pant...they are a bit loud and not ideal for being stealthy if on duty and clearing a house..they sound kinda like wind suit pants, i still like them though

  • Nutnfancy, I really love your flashlight and knife reviews, and keep coming back for more. However, I did not realize that you also reviewed tactical clothing! I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled on this video! Thanks a lot!!! :D

  • hey nutnfancy i just wanted to thank you for all the videos you upload! i just received three 5.11 pants in the mail today and i love them (2 -100% cotton and 1 Taclite).. especially the taclite pro pant.. i got another cotton pair coming in the mail and im sending them back for another taclite pro pant, very comforatble and i have confidence that they will be durable as well...keep up the good work!

  • Just ordered two of them after watching your review. I was on the fence for awhile, but you really helped me make up my mind. I was afraid they would scream LEO or military. Hopefully they fit true to size!

  • Nutn is right guys, All pants should have very good mobility room for your balls. Nothing sucks more than no ball mobility.

  • @atreyuthegreat Part of the reason I can't stand jeans. I'm gonna buy a few pairs of these, I look like an idiot with everything clearly imprinted in my pockets.

  • @atreyuthegreat affirmative, it's all about mobility vs firepower.

  • These are my WROL pants. :) Bought a pair in TUNDRA colouration.

  • Just a heads up. That strap on the back pocket was designed for carabiners for moutain climbers (5.11's origin). They kept it because it works well in the "tactical" environment for radio antennas etc.

  • @atapm4 Also if you checkout their regular tactical pant description they say it's good for hanging your flashlight or muffs at the range.

  • I am trying to decide whether or not to get the 100% cotton canvas or taclight version for winter street wear. I know you mentioned on you your fire starting video that the taclight pro's were too light for that type of weather. How they hold up in non-freezing temperatures? Or how about around freezing? Thanks for any info.

  • I am a male nurse working on a medical-surgical floor love these pants.

  • Absolutely love these pants. I got them for pretty much what he said in the beginning, loved the carry capability of my bdu pants, wasn't a fan of the flack I got for wearing camo in a professional setting. The pants look good feel great and I love the pocket set up. Although since my phone wont fit in the designated pocket I use that pocket for my multi tool. It seats nicely and stays close to the leg. The strap on the back is great for a radio, keeps the weight off my waist a little better.

  • great pants, but if you have a lot of gear in the desert, the velcro starts getting clogged up with sand, your gear will probably come out on the run.

  • Dedicated knife pocket. I like. I really like. I'll be ordering a black pair. I like how casual these seem while retaining function.

  • got my set months ago - they are great and ready for another winter season (these pants dry out quick!).

  • These pants are good for everything mall trips , vacation, work, church, playing in the woods, ect and all of your buddy's want them but are to lazy to order them so you will have your own style o yeah fyi you might get some respect due to the fact that when u wear a nice shirt with The free belt you look official

  • While I'm not military, police, or otherwise, I'm considering getting a few pairs for work. lol I'm IT in a manufacturing company and I want some for the durability (reinforced knees would rock since I do spend time crawling on concrete floors fishing wires and stuff), plus the pockets would be really nice for carrying the tools I need, like screwdrivers, strippers, etc. Since they look like slacks they'd fit right in with the normal office attire as well. Great vid! Keep 'em coming!

  • I'm waiting for my two pairs of taclite pro pants to come in the mail! I can't believe I'm so excited about pocket arrangements in a pair of pants. Man I'm a dork :P

  • LA Police gear has sales every week on different things. It's worth subscribing to their email list to get the offers. I also got a bail out bag when I placed my order last month.

  • Thank your for this review. I've been looking for a good pair for a while for my EDC system.

    pr4runner

  • i am currently a volunteer police officer....do you recommend these pants that purpose?

  • FYI I bought a pair of Tan Taclite shorts, liked them so much, got a green pair, BUT the green pair does not have the inner pockets inside the cargo pocket like the Tan does. 511 customer services says this:

This is a change to this style of the shorts. The taclite shorts will no longer come with the divided pocket. This change is to streamline this style to be the same as the original cotton pants and shorts. I apologize for any confusion.

I guess its "less features" for the same money.

  • I ordered the Tan Taclite shorts, loved them so much i bought a green pair. However...the green ones do not have inner cargo pocket "pockets". I was told by a customer support supervisor this:

This is a change to this style of the shorts. The taclite shorts will no longer come with the divided pocket. This change is to streamline this style to be the same as the original cotton pants and shorts. I apologize for any confusion.

In other words... less features for the same money...

  • i think the strap in the back of the pants are for molle or strike pouches i believe, from what i heard

  • This review only helped me to finalize my choice of pants ... 5.11 TacLite Pro, baby, YEAH. I'll never ever again wear regular pants. eFF jeans, eFF Fishbone, eFF all those "stylish-cargo-military-wannabe" pieces of sh... Yes, 5.11 is a bit pricey but hey... it's worth every single penny.

Hey, Nutn, how about other well known tac pants, like 24/7's, Blackhawks Lightwight Warrior Wear and that kind of?

  • @tekknorat Don't know if your question was replied to regarding BH warrior wear. As it happens I wear those and can say the are definitely an outstanding choice/option of tactical pant. I've for a while and no complaints. I have not had the chance to compare with these 5.11 in the review but I am sure they would be on par. I paid about $45 Canadian per unit which I consider a very good value.

  • @newcoyote Thank You sir, You just answered my question. It's good to hear from someone really using any piece of gear, not just the "awesome product" form sellers. Thank You again. Wow, 45C$ is more than good value. All I can find ir around 80US$, (not including shipping, which will be some 20-25$ more). And I also can recommend You 5.11 as I'm wearing ones right now. They are truly great, especialy for fast drying, astonishing color and light weight. Only be carefull with sizing, thou.

  • I bought these trousers after this review, over here in England. These trousers have some button holes on the inner seams of the trouser legs, right at the very bottom, with no apparent buttons for them - any ideas what they are for?

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45 for laces, cordage or I don't know how do you call it ... in short, so You can tighten the ends around Your legs or around combat boots. I recommend You to check related video review of these by USCAV, they explain this detail.

  • yea i have a used army acu dead on but i never noticed the knee pad holder thx i also have the shirt/coat pretty cool but i dont like the sideways pockets so thats why i have a vest lol/ i have this stuff for airsoft.

  • These pants rock, I have a pair of almost all 5.11 pants and I love these the most. The pocket choices, angles and double stitching and reinforced corners for knifes etc are great. Plus they are light and dry quicker. Good video.

  • Got several pairs of these for $19.95 closeout at LA Police Supply. TNP'ers, add the coupon code: "Tweet" at checkout and get an extra 10% off. This is an excellent product, thanks for the "different" kind of review, Nut'tin!

  • @NSNorfolk That is a MONSTER deal! I paid over $50 apiece for my hubby's. Great tip, NS!

  • @Verilioness Short addendum: Nutn says to make sure that viewers know that this is the all-cotton version of the TacLite pants on sale. The Pro version have 65% poly blend.

  • freedom for the tummy

  • What knife is shown @ 3:40

  • @XDiSniperxX That's a Benchmade 710 Mchenry Williams

  • Great video! I'm considering using this in my AO - the high school classroom!

  • That strap came from Royal Robbins climbing pant, it is used to carry Carbiners, and you can also use it to clip cellphone cases that won't fit on 1.75" belts.

  • 5.11 started out as a mountaineering/climbing company

the strap on the back right slash pocket was designed for carabiners and other rock climbing gear. You can attach it there and unclip it when you need help scaling to wall.

  • I think that utility strap is to prevent something oversized that you would stick in your back pocket from falling out. I just remembered the video of the Magpul guy putting the folded FMG-9 in his back pocket.

  • hey guys. just fyi the painters loop as nutnfancy calls it on the back of the pants is mainly for climbers. carabiners and other clip on gear like runners and maybe even your helmet can be attached without using a climbing harness

  • i love theese pants.im a civi, and i will be buying more. i got the od green.still have the free belt going too!i wish they had the knife pocket on the left also, beeing left handed and-all.i use the cell phone pocket for a extra glock 23 mag.the glock also tucks away nice in the front pocket with no visible printing.that may change though as they wear.we'll see.

    great review! thnx.

  • i still got plumbers ass

  • Outstanding pants! I actually had just purchased a pair at uscav.com for 39.99 minutes before I watched this vid and it reinforced my opinion of these pants. Then the day they arrived at my home I tried them on, took them out and immediately ordered another pair. Great recommendation, great pant. I highly recommend them.

  • Great review.

I´ve had the older 100% cotton 5.11 pants a few years now but didnt know they came in cotton/polyester blend.

Went to my local shop today and this week they had "3 for 2". I came home with 2 taclite pants and 1 TDU for the price of 2 :)

    Keep up the good work!
