This drill looks like it creates a good habit of make the last three steps quick but at the same time it looks like it is creating a bad habit of not making the athlete jump as strong and as powerful as they should because they are just jumping high enough to clear the box.. from experience i know that the worst thing you can do is create bad habits you may be fixing one habit but also just creating another.
